Chapter 13

When I wake up Steve was gone. Good thing, it's be suspicious if we both left at the same time.

My body ached, I could handle the pain in my lower area from last night because that was just soreness. Living at Shield made me able to handle being sore. But it was my chest....it felt off....suffocating even.

I quickly get off the bed and head into the bathroom, an urge to puke overcoming me. I bend my head over the toilet but don't puke. Instead I start coughing. I grab the edge of the seat as fits of coughs rack my body.

My clenched eyes open when the coughing stops. A small gasp escapes my lips as I look at the flower petals floating on the water. Oh god what the fuck was happening?! Maybe Bruce knows. I wash my hands and change as quickly as I could.

Before I leave I cough once more and look at the rose petals in my hand. I throw them away and walk out.

"Eyy you're awake!" Tony says as I walk into the lab.

"Morning," Bruce says and goes back into his work.

"Unfortunately," I sigh to Tony and give him a side hug, "where's Natasha?"

"Interrogating Loki," Tony answers. Both of them seemed off, they looked frustrated. Maybe I should keep it to myself...I'll just cause more problems.

"So uh....do you feel better?" Bruce asks with a hidden message.

"Yes Bruce I'm still loyal to Shield," I answer.

"I wasn't..." he trails. I notice Loki's scepter on the desk.

"Is that pissing you off?" I ask, pointing to it. They don't answer.

"Uh shouldn't you be working on it?" I question loudly so they heard. Tony walks past me and taps something on the monitor.

"What are you doing, Mr. Stark?" Fury's says. I turn around and straighten my stance. He barley glances at me and goes back to looking at Tony.

"Uh...kind of been wondering the same thing about you," Tony tells him.                         

"You're supposed to be locating the Tesseract," Fury reminds.

"We are. The model's locked and we're sweeping for the signature now. When we get a hit, we'll have the location within half a mile," Bruce explains. I stand there, awkwardly.

"And you'll get your cube back, no muss, no fuss," Tony adds. His monitor, as if on cue, makes a collection of secret files show.

"What is phase 2?" Tony asks him. What was phase two? Even as a high clearance agent I didn't know what it was. Suddenly, Steve drops a assault rifle on the table, a hydra weapon.

"Hydra...." I mumble as I eye the weapon. We all switch our attention the pissed Cap.

"Phase 2 is Shield uses the cube to make weapons," Steve tells us, "sorry, the computer was moving a little slow."

Weapons? Of the cube and Hydra? Was Fury trying to start a war?!

"Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. This does not mean that we're..." Fury tries to explain.

"I'm sorry, Nick," Tony says and turns the screen to show weapon plans. I widen my eyes a bit and go to the screen, looking through these plans.

"Agent (l/n) you are not allowed to see those," Fury tells me.

"I'm Clearance 9 Nick so don't give me your 'not allowed to see those' crap," I tell him. The plans were very detailed. On what to do to manufacture, what it would take, and....who it was supposed to be used on....
