"Morning, everyone" I greeted the squad with the brightest smile ever

"More like good after noon" scoffed Shirazu. "It's like, 12:20" he continued, looking at his phone

"What?" I deadpanned. "How could I sleep so much?"

"Dunno, but you're still in your night gown" stated Saiko

What? I had to change after we went back to our room

"I'll be right back" I said going upstairs

"Nee~ Kuki~" I whispered softly into his ear. "It's already after noon. Wake up"

But he refused

Carresing his purplish hair softly, his frown starts to slowly fade away until I whisper again

"Come on, sleepy head. It's time to wake up~"

"It's time to shut up"

"Eh?"

And in the next moment, I was grabbed by the hand that was in his hair, making me fall on top of him

"Oh, how the tables have turned" I mocked, letting my head fall on his chest, hearing his heart beat

"Yeah, yeah" he shrugs it off. "Let me have it this way if tomorrow we're starting with the Rosé case"

I just sighed

"I...I'm..." I started after a moment of silence while he starts to slowly open his eyes to look at me

"I'm... scared..." I exhaled loudly, hugging him tightly

"Idiot" he sighs. "Why the heck are you scared?"

"Y'know, sometimes you're such a tsundere" I clicked my tongue

"Answer me" he says in a monotone voice. "Why are you scared?"

"Can't I just be scared?" I retorted. "I just am and I can't tell why. It's just... this fear before a case"

"Tch. You don't have to" he clicked his tongue

"Why?"

"Because you don't"

"Wow, best answer ever" I said sarcastically

"It's just another case and we're going to be alright. Nothing's going to happen if this is why you're worried about" he sighs, tightening the hold

"Yeah... I guess you're right" I sighed, closing my eyes

Damn you and your gentle words that can calm me down and hunt me every time we're fighting!

The usual silence fell on us, but it wasn't an awkward one. He fell back asleep

He must be really tired

Yawning, I close my eyes, feeling how the sweet, sweet sleep is taking me away in the dream land, but...

"Oi! Wake up you--"

I open my eyes and the voice stops. It was Saiko

I flash her a small smile and show her the 'be quiet' sign with my index finger on my lips

She whispers a 'sorry' and closes the door, but her footsteps could be heard as she jumped up and down in excitement, whisper-yelling: "My OTP! My OTP!"
