Getting into the nurse's office was easier than Olaf expected, when he saw the nurse deciding to take a dinner break and leaving her post. Kit was the only patient today, so Olaf could walk around openly in the office. She was sitting on the bed, reading one of the many old magazines that were laying around.

"I found another message.", he told Kit while sitting down on her bed. She simply nodded, not looking up from the magazine. She didn't seem excited at all. Olaf knew she was still thinking about Lemony and Beatrice. She felt betrayed by the people she loved the most. It wasn't all about them apparently being in love (because why would you kiss someone if you weren't), but that they hadn't told her. Only then she also thought about Esme. Even though Kit didn't like her, she didn't deserve being cheated on.

Olaf never knew what to say in these kinds of situations to make someone feel better, so he simply opened the book and started decoding the message he found. After a while Kit stopped reading the magazine and watched him translate.

At the end the message spelled out: "Look away, or not. It does not matter, because you cannot not see the sign."

In silence the two started thinking. While Kit was thinking about behavioral signs, Olaf was more focus on actual signs.

They didn't talk much as they made a list of possible signs that couldn't be missed: exit signs, the crest on the uniforms, teachers saying something was a certain way just because they said so, toilet signs, the school bell and the signs to the principal's office.

Before the nurse could come back, Olaf and Kit walked out of the office and around the school. It was dinner time, so most students were either in the servery or in their dorm rooms.

When Kit was still not talking after they walked through almost the entire school, Olaf felt like he might be forced to address the subject that made his new friend so quiet.

"Do you want to talk?", he asked. She shock her head, but after a moment she did answer.
"I just wished they had told me before.", she said.

"Maybe they were scared about how you might react.", he suggested, trying to act as unbiased as possible.

"Probably.", she just said, not really knowing what to answer. She did understand how they might have felt, but this didn't meant she forgave them.

After not finding anything interesting for hours, they said good night and went to their dorms, Kit to the girls dorm and Olaf to the boys one.

When Kit was coming up the stairs of the dorm, she expected Beatrice to wait infront of her door to talk, but as she turned the corner of the corridor, someone else was sitting infront of her room, leaning against the wall, nearly asleep
