As often as we say the word "promise," we don't mean it.
A promise is basically a truth that's proven a lie over time.
They're made because in the moment it sounds right.
It sounds like the truth.
Except, it's not.
A long term promise always die.
"I promise to always love you."
Lies."I promise to never leave."
Lies. The only time someone can keep their promise is when it's something small & means nothing.
Like "I promise to call you back" or "I promise I'll be right back."
Even then, they can still be broken.
Promises are basically made to give us a false image.
An image of hope, to believe for the future.
It's the start of a lie.
& you must have known that.
You studied psychology & learned about the human brain & the reasoning behind what we do.
If you knew the promises we made weren't gonna last,
Why did you make them?
Better yet,
Why did I think you could keep them?
