Trigger warning this chapter
"Michael get up we're gonna be late!" Calum shouted as he frantically pulled random clothes on.
Michael sniffled groggily as he rubbed his eyes. His throat hurt and his nose was runny... he was sick.
"Cally I don't feel good," Michael whimpered as tears gathered in his eyes, he hated being sick.
"Mikey, you poor thing... wanna stay here? I'll get all your work from school for you," Calum said with a smile.
"Yes thank you."
"No problem. Love you!"
"Love you too!"
***
Michael woke up again and checked his phone.
2:40 pm. Where is Calum?
Calum: I'm at a study group for the history exam see u later
Michael frowned. Calum's parents were at work for sure and Mali is at college.
Michael's eyes widened when he saw 12 missed texts and three missed calls from Luke.
After a few rings, Luke picked up.
"Lukey, I'm sorry-"
"Jesus Michael I was so worried! Are you alright? It's not like you to miss school and then you didn't answer me... I thought something happened to you," luke rambled as he entered his apartment.
"I'm sick, daddy," Michael whispered as he sniffles.
"My sweet princess. Do you want daddy to take care of you? I'll make you soup and-"
"I don't wanna get you sick daddy.
"That's nonsense, where are you?"
"Calum's."
"Send me his address and I'll come pick you up."
"Okay daddy."
***
"Okay baby boy what would you like to eat?" Luke asked as Michael cuddled further into the couch he's slowly becoming used to.
"M'not hungry," Michael said with a sniffle.
The smell of Luke in the fuzzy blanket was making him feel a little better.
"You have to eat something or else you won't feel any better, love," luke sighed from the kitchen.
"I don't wanna," Michael pouted.
The sound of Luke's footsteps echoed into the small living room and Michael looked up, seeing the man tower over him and raising one eyebrow.
"I know you feel ill Michael but not eating isn't going to help. You may not feel hungry right now but at least try?" Luke spoke calmly, trying to keep his temper down.
"Okay daddy," Michael mumbled and hid his face.
"That's daddy's good boy," luke chuckled while kissing the top of the teens head softly.
***
Michael woke up to the sound of his phone ringing. He rubbed his eyes and reached for it, taking it off the charger.
"Hello?" He mumbled into the phone grumpily.
"Michael! Where the hell are you?! I've been calling you for the past three hours!" His mother screamed, he could practically smell the alcohol on her breath through his phone.
"Mom, it's four in the morning leave me alone," he said as he watched Luke stir in his sleep.
"Are you with someone? Ooo is it a girlfriiiiiend?" She slurred giggly.
"No we know I'm gay, I am with someone though."
"Ew of course it's a fucking boy, you disgusting-"
Michael pulled the phone away from his ear, her curses and homophonic comments blaring from the speaker part.
"Hang up," luke said suddenly, Michael hadn't noticed him even wake up.
"What?" Michael whispered so his mom wouldn't hear.
"Babe come back to bed, it's too early," Luke yawned over dramatically so the boy's mother would hear.
"Is that him? Not this shit again we aren't going through this again Michael-"
"Mom stop."
"No we aren't going through this grown men shit again you fucking slut!"
After that, michael hung up, tears gathering in his eyes. At least he didn't feel too sick anymore. He whimpered as he tried to hold back the tears.
"Sh babe I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that," luke whispered as he pulled the boy to his chest.
"I-It's okay. It's just, fuck, it's complicated," Michael cried.
"Tell me, princess. Tell daddy what's wrong," luke soothes as he rubbed the boy's back.
Normally Michael would say this isn't the time for that term but it fits so perfectly every time luke says it.
"I'm scared."
"Baby, what your mom said concerns me and I wanna know what she was talking about. If you don't want to then that is perfectly fine, but just know you can trust me and I love you."
"I love you too, daddy."
Michael nuzzled his face against Luke's chest more and sighed before speaking again, "well as you now know, that was my mom. She's an alcoholic, doesn't do much besides drink and make me feel like the biggest mistake to ever walk this earth."
Luke tightened his grip in Michael slightly and kissed his cheek.
"And when I was about 9-years-old, my father died. My mother began drinking and sleeping a round, she brought new men home every single day. I had to sit through watching that every day knowing my mom no longer cared about me or even herself. One day, she came home with a man she saw as fucking Superman. He got her into rehab, and while she was there I was at home with him. At first it was just weird looks he gave me, like there was something on my face. Then it was the things he'd say," Michael's voice trembled and Luke was absolutely terrified of the direction this was heading towards, "he'd tell me my skirt really made my legs look nice or that I must get all the boys with a body like mine. I was only twelve, who the fuck tells a twelve-year-old that? One day he placed his hand on my thigh while we were watching tv, I didn't think anything of it until I tried to move away and he held his grip and made me sit back down."
Michael closed his eyes and wiped his sweaty palms on the sheets. Luke had tears in his eyes too, he wanted nothing more than Michael to feel safe and loved.
"He made me do things I never had even heard of, that night he made me blow him. It would progressively get worse and on my thirteenth birthday he raped me, luke. Who the fuck is sick enough to do that to anyone, let alone a thirteen year old? I was kid and I got my childhood ripped from me. I had my innocence ripped from me and nothing could bring it back. The worst part is my mother walked in on it and beat me afterwards. She blamed me for destroying her chance at a happy future."
Luke hugged and rocked the sobbing boy and cried a little himself. Michael hiccuped and shuffled closer, inhaling the masculine scent of Luke's body.
"Thank you for telling me, baby. You're so strong and as long as I'm in your life no one is ever going to to hurt you or even get away with it," luke told his sad baby boy.
"Promise?"
"Promise."
Just as they locked their pinkies a loud clap of thunder echoed through the apartment.
"Shit," luke groaned.
"What?"
"Just wait-"
"DADDYYYY!" A little voice cried as the patter of tiny feet came running down the hall.
Michael giggled and wiped his eyes, "just as bad as me."
Luke smiled and watched as the child threw the door open and jumped into the bed with them.
"Sh its okay my sweet girl, just cuddle with daddy and Mikey," luke cooed.
Michael felt his heart warm that luke remembered the conversation Michael and the small child had. Luke took into consideration that his kid would want female pronouns now and Michael couldn't be more in love.
Damn he got a good one.
