"Noel.... Noel... Miss Brooks!" My math teacher called out my name, causing me to lift my head up off the desk. I noticed everybody was looking at me
"What?"
"Would you care to wake up and come do the problem for us on the board"?
I looked at him for a minute as he held out the marker and shook my head
"No."
The whole class burst out laughing as I put my head back down and closed my eyes while he scoffed
"Well if you feel like sleeping is more important than my class you can f-"
"Aye you gone have to chill off my sister" boomer spoke up for me. I sat up and looked back at him and smiled before laying back down. I went back to sleep for the rest of the class and in no time the bell rung for us to go home

Of course it was Valentine's Day so everybody was all boo'd up and. Love was all over the place while I'm just sitting here all lonely. I should've just stayed home for all of this
I picked up my book bag and slung it over my shoulder before leaving out of the classroom with boomer behind me. A couple stood in the middle of the hall hugged up making me roll my eyes
"You know you can't just go around being hateful for the rest of the month right?" Boomer asked me and I looked at him
"Yes I can"
He chuckled and shook his head. We exited the building. While I was about to head in the direction of where we parked this morning, boomer stopped me
"What?"
"Just come on"
"I got stuff I gotta go do-"
"You ain got shit to do stop lyin" he quickly responded and grabbed my hand, pulling me behind him. I let out a groan as he pulled me over to where all of the guys were standing around, along with Elena
"Noel! Long time no see shawty" Ben said loud and I just mugged him as boomer finally let go of me
"Happy Valentine's Day sisterrrrr" Elena said with a smile as she handed me some flowers, a bear and a gift bag. I laughed a little and shook my head
"Thank you. But you seriously didn't have to do this"
"This ain't from me"
I furrowed my brows and she pointed over at baby joe who had his phone to his ear. She slapped his arm and he looked over at us, making a face at Elena then looked at me
"Oh, here she go. Maybe she'll stop acting like an asshole now" he spoke into the phone then reached it out to me. I grabbed it from him and put it to my ear
"Hello?"
"Happy Valentine's Day shawty"
A smile immediately stretched across my face once I heard kentrell's voice
"Kentrell baby I miss you so much"
"I miss you too. How you been?"
"I'm straight..."
Kentrell started laughing "no you ain't. I heard you been actin' different"
"I'm not acting different Kentrell"
"Noel I know you"
I sighed and started to scratch my head
"Just like I know you scratch yo' head when you irritated so stop"
I stopped and rolled my eyes, smiling a little
"I understand that you miss me but you can't shut everybody out while they tryina help you. Just be patient these couple of weeks and ima be out Ight?"
"Alright"

I huffed. Hearing the machine say that automatically dampened my mood yet again
"You better not get in yo' feelings" Kentrell immediately spoke "Ill call you later on"
"Okay. Just don't forget, please"
"You know I ain gone forget. From now on I want you smiling though"
"Fine.... I love you Kentrell"
"I love you too babygirl. Now enjoy the rest of yo' day. Just don't have too much fun cause I will find out"
We both started laughing but I knew that he was serious. The phone hung up and I looked at it before handing it back to baby joe
"Is that a tear I see?" Kd asked as he looked in my face and I mushed him back
"No, get outta my face"
"Why you wanna see my sister cry so bad?" Elena asked him and he shrugged while Ben started laughing
"Cause that nigga heartless"
Elena rolled her eyes and looked at me "anyways! Are you alright?"
"Yeah. I'm good... thank y'all, forreal. Y'all don't understand how y'all just made my day"
"I don't mean to take all the credit but, I will" Ben said as he popped his collar and boomer smacked his lips
"You ain do shit. Yb called the other day and wanted to make sure you had something on Valentine's Day"
I smiled and bit my lip. I love that boy so much
