We didn't burn the papers.

At least, not yet.

I came from the restroom, relieved and refreshed, only to find Miri on the floor, doodling mustaches on the pictures of me. I stood in the doorway, waiting for her to notice my presence. When she didn't, I snuck up behind her and snapped my fingers in front of her face.

She screamed.

Air rushed in and out of my lungs, my silent way of chuckling.

Miri glared at me. "Not funny!"

I gave her my best apologetic-yet-not-so-apologetic smile.

She crossed her arms and shook her head at me. "Tsk tsk."

Possibly as payback, she solved her problem by chasing me around her house.

***

I have never been to her house before, so I stuck with hiding in the restroom I had previously used. When her banging on the door stopped, I peeked out through the crack under the door.

No one there.

I finally opened the door, only to get tackled by Miri, who lunged from the side of the wall where it isn't visible to the crack under the door.

Ouch.

***

"So everyone knows you're missing." Miri said after looking at a "MISSING" poster, free of the horrifying mustache doodles.

I nodded.

"And there is a search party out there."

I nodded again.

"And we don't know who is searching, which means it could either be good or bad news. They might spare you, or they could just drag you back and come up with a bunch of lies about their so-called 'bravery'."

Another nod.

"Welp." She laid down on the floor, staring at the ceiling. "This sucks."

I tapped her shoulder, then signaled,*When does it not suck?*

"True."

I looked out her window to see the sun dipping near horizon, the sky burning orange. *I should go now.*

"Bye!" Miri cheerfully waved at me. "We will talk more tomorrow!"

I waved back.

(A/N) Votie votie yeah yeah!

...

What am I doing?

I will be editing the chapters so it will be easier for you to read. Why? Because somebody (*cough cough* @TheLostSpartan) told me to. And if you get pelted with a bunch of notifications...ignore it.
