Narrator's POV

Hermione Jean Granger sat in her parents home, eating her vegetables at the table.

Her parents were still at the dental office, they always were, so she was so lonely.

Once she cleaned up after eating, she decided to write to Harry, asking if he wanted to go out and just have some fun.

An hour later, she received a reply saying Harry would meet her at Diagon Alley with Neville, Cedric, Theo and Draco.

Hermione blushed at that, Draco was her soulmate and Draco knew it too, but they hadn't gotten together yet.

They had talked about it in private, agreeing they had been too young when they met, and when they did they'd have to keep it hidden because of social stigma regarding her blood status, so Hermione wasn't attacked.

Hermione searched her trunk for some money in wizard currency, cursing when she only found a few knuts.

She found her piggybank and took out all her muggle money to exchange for wizard money.

A few hours later, Hermione arrived at the location and quickly found the small group waiting for her, seeing Neville looked drastically different from when she'd last saw him.

He was taller, his hair black, his eyes dark grey, and his cheekbones more prominent.

"Hey, Nev, I heard about your gran, hope you're doing well." Hermione sympathized

Neville looked like he was hiding a laugh, "Trust me, 'Mione, I'm doing better than ever."

The group then went on to the shops, shopping around, eventually nearing Knockturn Alley.

"Let's go." Harry said, Cedric close behind as the others followed

They went to Borgin and Burkes, Harry flashing a necklace at the owner, too fast for Hermione to see.

Mr. Borgin quickly left and returned with a black chest.

Harry peeked inside of it and smiled, knowing Mr. Borgin wouldn't dare to speak about this for any price, Inner Circle members were watching, pretending to be other patrons in the shop.

"What's in the box, Harry?" Hermione asked

Harry smiled at her, "Oh, just something that needed to be picked up."

They went to the Leaky Caldron for lunch and sat down.

Hermione looked around for her bag, realizing she had forgotten to get her money exchanged since she hadn't bought anything yet.

Draco told her he'd cover for her and paid for her lunch.

Chatter resumed and Hermione's eyebrow raised when Draco called Neville "cousin".

Everyone paused and Harry sighed, "'Mione, I'm gonna elk you something and you gotta swear not to tell anyone."

"Ok, I swear." Hermione said

Harry began to tell her about the truth of his soulmate, Neville or rather Rigel's LeStrange heritage and about being Lady Tenebris.

Hermione blinked at him, "A lots happened in this time, huh."

"Yeah, so you wanna join the Guard, 'cause it's kinda been awkward ya know?"

Hermione agreed and she found herself being marked under the table, rolling her sleeve back up.

A few weeks later, Hermione had met Tom and went with the other Guard on a raid.

Unfortunately, she had been hurt during the raid and her parents had noticed the giant cut on her arm.

"What happened, honey?" Her mother asked

"Nothing." Hermione said, trying to shut her door

Her father stopped her, "Answer your mother, why have you been sneaking out of this house?"

Hermione pulled out her wand, "Leave me alone."

Her mother gasped, "You'd threatened your parents, who raised you, fed you and clothes you?"

"YOU'VE NEVER BEEN HERE FOR ME, AND NOW THAT I HAVE SOMETHING OF MY OWN YOU WANT TO TAKE IT AWAY!" She shouted, slamming her door shut and locking it with magic

Her parents pounded on her door, yelling at her that she was grounded and wouldn't be allowed to go back to that freak school and that they'd write to Dumbledore.

Eventually, she heard her mother mutter that shouldn't have adopted her from her cousin's family.

Hermione teared up, threw all her belongings into her trunk and jumped out the window, catching the Knight Bus to the Leaky Caldron and flooing to Malfoy Manor.

When she arrived she quickly noticed she was in what she thought was the living room, with the three Malfoys and the four LeStranges staring at her.

"'Mione, whatcha doing here?" Draco asked

"My parents've gone mad, there screaming at me and said I was adopted and they were gonna write Dumbledore and a whole mess. Can I stay here awhile, I didn't know where else to go." Hermione answered

Narcissa nodded, "Of course, dear, stay as long as you need. I'll write out Lord to make sure Dumbledore doesn't hear a thing."

"Thank you." Hermione said, collapsing into the nearest chair, her adrenaline giving away

Meanwhile in Little Hangleton, the Dark Lord was in his office doing paperwork and making plans for the next raid when he saw the Malfoy owl trying to gain his attention.

He let it inside and untied the letter from its leg and read it, quickly sending Wormtail to retrieve the Grangers before they could get message to Albus.

Within the hour they were in his dungeon.

The following morning, Hermione was presented with the same paper Rigel had.

She pricked her finger and let exactly one drop of blood hit the parchment, watching her relatives lay themselves out.

Hermione looked at the parchment in front of her, she was half-blooded, and her godfather was Professor Snape.

But most importantly she was being arranged to marry Ron, the absolute idiot who had the emotional range of a teaspoon, and also wasn't her soulmate?

Boy was she glad to be free of the Light, this would need to be fixed immediately because the only person she would marry had the initials of D.L.M. not R.B.W...
