Sixteen-year-old Torryn Wilde does not know what to expect when her father uproots her and moves them from the rainy buzzing city of Seattle to buttcrack middle of nowhere Jasper, Nevada. Within her first month, she quickly befriends of a trio of misfits, Jack, Miko, and Raf; a nice but slightly secretive small group of friends.

Inside the borders of school, the quartet is as close as can be, but once the bell rings, it is as if Torryn is nothing more than a forgotten memory with the way Jack, Raf, and Miko leave her in the dust rushing off to their respective vehicles. Despite the curiosity and slight hurt she feels from their actions, she attempts not to pry knowing she is the 'newbie'.

With a father who is always away on government business and a group of friends who can never hang out outside of school, Torryn decides she is going to need something else to occupy her time. After joining the cheer team and making friends with Sierra, Torryn has finally fallen into a rhythm of normalcy within Jasper.

However, that normalcy is soon to shatter with the discovery of something much bigger than herself. Literally.
