so yeah, it's been a year since tour ended. lauren and i did as best as we could to keep in touch, but it was just too hard. she was always with her toronto friends when i tried calling and i was always with my la friends when she was calling. even though hayden lived in la, it got awkward as soon as lauren and i drifted. i'm not sure if he's still dating lauren, but i wouldn't know. sometimes we see each other, and i wave carelessly, but i can see the pain in his eyes... remembering our old friendship.
as for johnny and i... long distance doesn't work out. i visited him and lauren in toronto a few weeks after tour ended, but by then, everything was different. his friends i never met, his life. it was so unfamiliar to me. as soon as i got off the plane back to la, we broke up. i haven't seen or spoken to him since.
it's a sad case, he was my everything, the only boy who i truly loved, but sometimes you need to move on from the past and push towards a better future.
tonight i'd probably get drunk, hang out with my new best friends, and maybe joey would ask me out. nothing seemed to have a purpose anymore, but i might as well live out my life.
walking up to my room, i saw something out of the corner of my eye. a picture. of me and johnny from tour. at the beach. his arm around me, both of us smiling so brightly. i admired the picture for awhile, staring at it. even though i didn't know where he was right now, i enjoyed the moment, looking at WHAT WE ONCE HAD.
