T W O M O N T H S L A T E R
It had been a little over two months since you were taken, and still, you missed home more than anything. The smiling faces of your family and friends. In your mind, those smiles were replaced by worried frowns, wondering where you had disappeared to for an entire two months.
As horrible it was being snatched away and taken to a place you didn't even know, it wasn't all bad. Silly, right? Growing on the place you'd been taken to, not being allowed to leave and go outside whenever you wanted.
Mingi, a close friend you had made who was actually disappointed Seonghwa had taken you, was always looking out for you. Hoping to make you feel safe, hoping to make you feel happy and hoping to make you grow fond of the large house. That, of course, would never happen. Yes, you were growing on the people but the area was a whole different story.
Mingi had kept his promise, too. Nobody had hurt you and you weren't treated any different than if you were home. All you did was simply obey them, do what they ask and when they ask and there were no issues.
Within the month you'd been kept there, you searched for ways out, keeping your eyes wide open in search for an exit, however, that was easier said than done.
You still failed to understand why they were all part of a mafia gang, for they were really laid back and were really quite calm people (just don't get on their bad side).
With the growing friendship you and Mingi were developing, he began opening up to you about why he was involved with them, why he was still around and pieces of his past, and he had surprisingly, openly admitted that he didn't want to do bad things like kidnapping and hurting people.
Of course, you were taken aback by his confession and asked him a billion questions. "Why are you still here? Why don't you leave?" and so on.
Most of his responses were short and similar. He couldn't leave as he had nowhere to go, he didn't want to cause danger to the others and he was well treated and safe where he was. He loved everything about being involved with the gang, all except the kidnapping and violence.
Was it wrong to be friends with someone like Mingi? Regardless of the answer, you were friends with him whether it was wrong or not. Behind his intimidating looks and deep voice, was a big softie who had the biggest heart and was apparently just in the wrong place. Or was he?
