Quietly, you let out a sigh of relief before erupting into a bright smile after adding some last minute details to your attire. You had spent the last few hours getting ready for a date with Yeosang, trying to make sure everything was perfect. You and Yeosang rarely went on dates, so it was a good opportunity and you wanted to make sure you put all of your effort in to make yourself presentable.

After confirming you were done, you headed to your bathroom and checked yourself over in the mirror. Your efforts definitely paid off and you were fairly pleased with the end result. Although, the more you looked, the more you thought otherwise.

You suddenly felt as though you didn't look as good and as pretty as you had originally thought, thinking you didn't live up to the expectations of everyone. You thought everything had to be perfect, no flaws at all and live up to what people wanted. You sometimes felt far from that and felt as though you weren't good enough for anyone, and sometimes not good enough for even yourself.

Your thoughts occupied your mind as you stared at your reflection, feeling insecure about the little details because you felt you had to look flawless. You were suddenly disheartened, picking out small imperfections that could barely be noticed. It was no surprise when your eyes filled with tears as you still held contact with yourself in the mirror.

You cried for a good ten minutes. You managed to stop yourself at some point, but then you immediately started again regardless of how hard you tried holding it in. Though, you knew you were going out so needed to calm yourself down and dry your eyes.

You looked back up at the mirror, realising your makeup had smudged, your cheeks were stained with dry tears and your eyes were red. You needed to tidy yourself up. It wasn't far off the time you had agreed to meet Yeosang and he'd easily be able to tell something was wrong. The last thing you wanted was for him to spend the night comforting you when you were supposed to go out together.

So, you quickly splashed some water on your face and began to carefully fix your makeup. Despite your efforts to tidy yourself up, it was still obvious you'd been crying. Yet, it was too late to do anything more about it because you heard your doorbell loudly ring.

Your heart began to race as you wondered what you should do, but the only option you saw was to answer the door and hope Yeosang wouldn't notice you had been crying. Making it even worse, you hadn't even finished fixing your makeup. You let out a sigh as you left the bathroom and made your way to the front door.

You opened the door, smiling warmly at Yeosang, who was dressed formally and held a bouquet of flowers in front of him. You attempted to hide parts of your face with your hair, but it made little difference. Fortunately, it was dark so it wasn't as obvious you'd previously been feeling down.

"Good evening," he greeted, outstretching his arms as he held the flowers in front of your face. "I got you flowers," he beamed as you took them, examining them carefully.

You quickly threw your arms around his neck, kissing his cheek as you thanked him sincerely. "They're lovely," you said as you pulled away, opening the door wider and allowing him to enter.

He walked inside, taking a seat on the couch as you went to the kitchen to get a vase for your new flowers. Whilst in the kitchen, you let out a sigh of relief as Yeosang hadn't noticed anything was wrong yet. You gently placed the flowers in a vase before you splashed your face with a little bit more water, hoping it didn't ruin your makeup even more. Then, you went back to see Yeosang.

From suddenly being in the light, it was much easier to notice that your eyes were red and your makeup wasn't completely finished. So, Yeosang immediately noticed it and panicked as soon as you returned to him.

He stood up, placed his hands on your shoulders as he looked at you worriedly. "Are you okay? Have you been crying? Why have you been crying? Is there something wrong?" He asked, intently looking at you as he asked you question after question.

You paused for a moment, debating whether to be honest or to say it was nothing, but you knew Yeosang could see right through you and wouldn't drop it until you told him. "I just - I was really excited for tonight and I was so happy to be able go out with you, so I really tried to make an effort to dress up and look good because it's not often we go out on a date. But then I just thought that I didn't look good enough and that I wasn't good enough for you or anyone and I started to work myself up over it and —"

"No, no, no," Yeosang interrupted, taking your face in his hands as he pouted slightly. "Please don't think like that. You? Imperfect and not good enough? Never. You look beautiful regardless of how much effort you put it and of course you're enough. (Y/N), you're more than enough. If anything, I'm not good enough for you," he joked with a small smile, hoping to lighten the mood and to make you smile too, in which he succeeded.

"There's no expectations you should feel the need to meet because not everyone has the same idea of perfect. Me? I think you're worth more than gold and are flawless. Don't put yourself down like this. I hate seeing you so upset."

Yeosang tenderly smiled at you, placing a soft kiss on your lips. He soon began showering you with small kisses as he told you that he loved you, and then pulled you into his arms as he placed one last kiss on your head. You remained still for a moment, the two of you standing in each other's arms in silence.

"So," Yeosang began as he pulled away, breaking the long, comforting silence, "would you rather stay here tonight? Because that sounds tempting," he asked, raising his eyebrows with a mischievous look.

You acted as though you were deep in thought and were thinking hard about your response. "It does sound tempting," you agreed, "and I don't feel like doing my makeup again," you added on with a little groan of annoyance escaping your lips.

Upon deciding to stay inside for the evening instead, you both gathered piles of blankets and pillows before setting up and comfortable seating area where you could watch movies for the rest of the evening.

After setting up and grabbing a load of snacks from the kitchen, you sat down next to each other and began watching the movie you had chosen.

"I'm sorry for ruining tonight," you apologised as your head fell to the side against Yeosang's shoulder. "I know you were looking forward to going out too."

"No, it's okay. Don't apologise. This is actually much nicer than an overpriced fancy restaurant," he laughed, grabbing your hand as he ran his thumb over the back of it. You lightly nodded as you settled into his warmth before averting your eyes back to the TV.

It wasn't long before you had accidentally fallen asleep whilst watching the movie, but Yeosang made it to the end without closing his eyes. So, when the movie finished, he simply sat there and let you rest as he admired how perfect you were and thought about how much he loved you.
