Here's the final part. Again, I'm experimenting with a form of a narrative style of story telling. Hope you enjoy it. 😊

~~ continuation from part 2~~Then came February and they got the biggest surprise of their lives. In the battle of birth control vs love, passion and the enthusiasm of youth, birth control lost. They found themselves looking at five home pregnancy tests one February morning, all screaming only one thing: Positive. She was enceinte'. She promptly burst into tears, he did too. His with joy, hers were tainted with fear and uncertainty. Is she ready? Is she cut out for motherhood? She kicked him out of the bathroom and cried her heart out sitting on the marbled floor. When she thought all her tears were gone, she closed her eyes, put her hand on her tummy and whispered, "anak", and somehow calmness overcame her whole being and it put a smile on her lips. Suddenly she can see herself holding a very handsome baby boy in her arms who looks so much like his father. She caressed her tummy and whispered "I love you baby" and it made her tear up with sheer happiness. Only then she realized the incessant pounding coming from the door and she knew he has gone very frantic. She got up and as soon as she opened the door, she jumped into her husband's arms and hugged him tight. They kissed while crying and laughing at the same time with her husband kissing her and her tummy over and over again.
They made the public announcement on the day of her birthday show in EB. He gave her a surprise party that night for her and her friends, then a private yacht and beach get together for their families the next day on her actual birthday.
Then they hied off to Israel for their annual EB trip with the dabarkads. That trip for them was priceless. They renewed their wedding vows in Cana. It was blissful and faith-strengthening for them, especially now with a little one coming. The heat, the cold and the tiring travel did get to her though and towards the end of the trip she just couldn't tolerate the long walks anymore and mostly was holed up in their hotel room as she was also getting sick most of the time. She just couldn't join the rest of the group on their sight-seeing. Her husband refuses to leave her side but she all but had Fr. Jeff and Bossing drag him out so at least one of them can enjoy the tours. All she's doing was sleep anyway. The baby was making it's presence felt and it didn't like it's Mommy walking around all day, thank you very much.
Things got a little hard for him when they got back. He was set to leave soon for Hongkong to shoot for his movie, then a quick trip to New York for a show. In the meanwhile, his loving wife has become very very clingy. She would cry and cry everytime he has to leave the house, she was put on bed rest by her doctor for a few days to recover when they got back from Israel. He zipped in and out of his obligations most days. Anything that doesn't require his physical presence he attends via online while his wife naps in his arms beside him.
If that wasn't hard enough, things became more difficult when he had to actually leave for HK. Initially they left together to shoot their EB lenten episode in HK also. EB had to do some people switching on the groupings so the husband and wife would be together in one group. Scripts were re-written hastily. When all that was done and she had to go back home alone, the wife's tears went non-stop. He had to go back home with her and bring her to her parents house for the duration of his time out of the country so she can be entertained by her niece and nephew. He was suppose to be gone for three weeks. The plan was to stay there, coming back only after two weeks to grace the opening of his fast food chain branch then back to HK in less than 48 hours after. With his wife at her delicate stage, he had to make the trek back home to Manila every friday to spend the weekend with her then going back on an early flight to HK on a monday morning to continue with the shoot. This went on for three whole weeks. His wife's smile, hugs and kisses was worth all the tiredness and the costs of flights. And feeling that small baby bump that now graces her tummy made it all more priceless. He was storming all the baby shops in Hongkong and getting stuff by the armloads everytime he went home. His wife had to tell him to stop getting new baby stuff every week, at least til they know what they're having.
