E D I T E D !

"Rae Jasmine? Can you come to Griddy's for a while, dear? I really need your help," My aunt, Agnes pleaded to me. Agnes is the person who took care of me after my Father decided to sky rocket into whatever black hole and misery he put himself in. After the death of my mother, he became less and less my Father and became an alcoholic. Pretty ballsy to do considering how tight we were on money. But nevertheless, I'm contented in my life with Agnes. She treats me like her own child and constantly feeds me delicious pastries.

"What happened, Agnes? Did the toilet get clogged again?" I replied back with a wistful sigh, the last time this happened we paid a large amount of money just to get the bathroom fixed.
I swear I'm convinced some people can't read. It was clearly said on the signs to NOT throw garbages in the toilet.

I heard shuffling in the background and some people muttering something before Agnes replied, "Nope, gladly not. But the shop is packed! There's only two people on the shift, we really need a hand."

"Sure, I'll be right there in about... 5 minutes. Can you still handle a bit?" I got out of the warm bed and put a coat on considering how cold it was for an afternoon. I walked through the yard and made sure to lock the doors and close the windows. I took a deep breath and saw the sky was gloomy, it wouldn't take an idiot to realize that it was about to rain. Guess I should run and hope I wouldn't slip and die a horrible death.

After a quick 2 minute jog I felt faint droplets on my head, it wasn't long enough until it started pouring, "Yep, the world pretty much hates me," I sighed to myself taking cover from a nearby building.

The rain was strong and it would probably take long to stop. My thoughts were filled with worry for Agnes, she was probably stressed out from taking care of kids who wanted to eat doughnuts until they'll look pregnant. So I made a shitty decision and started running on the busy streets towards the pathway to Griddy's.

I glanced at the Alleyway, I saw what used to be the house of the infamous Umbrella Academy. Pretty weird name if you ask me, but that lonely house seemed lively a bit, I can hear some old music on the distance— quite surprising to see.

I heard from Agnes about their stories, she said they were exactly born on the same day and were weirdly given birth because the Biological mothers weren't pregnant when the day began, it was mysterious. I really wanted to meet them because these things only happen in movies.

Entering the shop I noticed that it was pretty empty, except for a dude smoking a cigarette at the corner of a booth. Then, my eyes trailed at a very exhausted Agnes sitting behind the counter, "Agnes, sorry I was so late, it started pouring and I waited for it to calm-" I rambled but she cut me off with a cheeky smile,

"It's okay dear, what about you handle the rest of the customers while I rest for 30 minutes, I'll join you in the evening," I nodded and briskly put on my apron, I really didn't like their outfit so Agnes made me a cute apron to match the scheme of the original clothing.

It was a usual boring night, customers take coffee and a specific doughnut then after a while leave the money on the counter. Agnes came by 30 minutes later feeling energized, she was always a cheerful person in general, her energy always influences me.

"So, how was your day at home?" Agnes asked me, swiftly catching the money a customer threw at her, "Good, but it was really boring without anyone to talk to," I replied while re-doing my bun.

Our conversation got cut off by a boy, he has a scowl on his face. He was also wearing those school-boy shorts matching with the top, and he looked annoyingly handsome— which sounds weird for me to say..

I didn't really mind his presence, figuring he can wait, so I talked to Agnes for a minute "You know I really like the soufflě you baked it wa—" the boy tapped the bell impatiently, I didn't notice a new guy has been sitting next to him so I sighed and told Agnes I'll take care of the younger one's order.

"Hi, I'm Rae Jasmine and I'm he—" He waved his hand dismissively and stated, "I'm not interested on what your name is, quite frankly, I don't care and I don't like you."

I rolled my eyes, this kid just pisses me off, forget what I said about liking his face, his personality is rotten. "Look Mr fancy pants, I'm trying to do my job here, at least try to be nice and stop cutting me off!" I slammed my hands in front of him giving him a mean look. "I don't have time for this bullshit.. Just give me your order."

He sighed unsurprised by my outburst. Weird, other people would've been quivering right now if they were on his position considering people quote "you're intimidating".

"The kid wants coffee, black," He replied grimly. Staring into my eyes, analyzing me. If I weren't so sweet and kind I would have filed a case for eye-raping, if that's a crime.

"Dang, talk about bitter people," I remarked chuckling under my breath. It wasn't meant to be heard but this asshole has a sensitive hearing.

"Dang, talk about not minding people's interests," He replied while rolling his eyes, I really want to flip the bird at him or maybe strangle him but Agnes would probably disown me, so I refrained to, even if he deserves it.

It came to my thought to poison him and rat shit or something but then refused when my brain reminded me that he's paying us money to have a roof on our heads. I frowned and gently put the non-poisoned black coffee in front of him and gave him an unattractive scowl, "I'll pay for his," the guy beside him said and handed me the money. Agnes quickly went into the back room to get the change, but then the man left on his tow truck. Sweet, more money for us then.

But then I realized the jerk was still here so I walked as far away from him as possible and texted on my phone.

After 2 minutes of texting my friend, Perry, The bell rang signalling new customers. I groaned and stood up, but then I saw men, pointing a gun at the jerk, this wasn't part of the plan. Dangit, I wanted to kill him myself, "Come back to the commission, they want to talk," the guy who was pointing the gun at him spoke with clear authority and with a menacing look in his face, but this jerk really wasn't nervous at all.

"I have nothing to talk about," He sighed, unable to contain his annoyance. I scoff at him, I mean how can this dude casually sip his coffee when a freaking gun is pointed at his head, but then I realize my idiotic move, the men all turned their heads on me finally realizing I was here all along. So the other man started pointing a gun at me too, what the hell.

This is how my life ends? A stranger freaking decides if I live or die? I really want him to just listen to these freaks so we'll just go on our own merry way and call it a day worth forgetting.

But then again, the world hated my guts.
