You look at me
I look at you
We appear to be looking at each other
But instead we're looking right through
I see the person you are
You're the person you claim to be
But you're trying to past my fakeness
Trying to see the real me
I look away as you break down my walls
Tearing down the very things that protect me
You ignore me as I ask you
To leave me alone and let me be
Digging deeper into my brain
Resurfacing all my pain
Into my memories you shine a light
And watch every last gruesome sight
You reach out and grab my heart
Rip it out and tear it apart
I watch you pick at and examine the remains
While hoping through it all I stay sane
You read my mind and watch every dream
While learning through my experiences that every thing is not what it seems
I fall to my knees and cry for you to stop
Begging you to find another person to look through
But you block me out and continue to search
And I'm forced to deal with the pain caused by you
Eventually you find what you were looking for
It satisfies you what you finally see
And even while I stand here hating you
There's a sweet relief in someone finally seeing the real me
