Kara's Apartment

I watched as the both Supergirl and the Alex came storming out of the bedroom. They both seemed really mad at each other. I couldn't hear what they were talking about before, but they were undoubtedly arguing about something, most likely me.

"You're making a mistake." Alex told Supergirl right before slamming the door shut.

"Good!" Supergirl yelled back. The door had already been closed, so she was just yelling at a wall. I watched from the couch as she took in a deep breath and fixed herself up. She ran her hands through hair and placed everything back, last thing she did was straight her glasses before she walked back over to me and gave me a big smile, "Sorry about that. Sisters, they get on your nerves sometimes."

I was in shock, "Wait! She's your sister? So is she Kryptonian too?"

"What? Oh Alex! No she is actually my adoptive sister, her family took me in when I was young. She is just a regular human." She said with a bright smile.

I couldn't help but laugh when I realized something ironic about the relationship between Supergirl and her adoptive sister.

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing... It's just you're the great and powerful Supergirl, and you're scared of your non-superpowered sister." I tried to stop laughing, but I couldn't. I know this is disrespectful, especially to someone you have just met, but I don't know. I feel so comfortable when I'm around her. I feel like I can be my awkward self around her.

"Stop laughing, I'm not scared of Alex." She tried to tell me in a serious tone, but I couldn't take her seriously. It didn't take long before she was laughing with me, "If anything she is afraid of me."

"Yeah right. You are not scary. You look so adorable in those glasses, how could anyone be afraid of you." I said while still laughing.

Suddenly the room got quiet. Oh my gosh, why did I say that! Damn it! Damn it! Damn it! How can I be so stupid, "Oh. My bad, that came out unintentionally. I should really think before I speak."

I looked at her, I noticed that she was looking at her floor, obviously she was to embarrassed to look at me. Although she was trying to avoid my line of sight, I couldn't help but notice the light shade of red on her cheeks. Was that me, or was that just her makeup?

"Yeah." She began laugh again, "I've told you multiple times that you should really think before you speak, but you never listen to me."

There it was again. She seems to know so much about me, but how. Maybe I should ask her later, "So. Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure."

"Why?"

"Why what?"

"Why do you do all this? Why do you go flying around, saving people all the time? Why do you risk your life like that? What does your dad and mom think of this, what about your boyfriend? Don't they try to stop you?"

I noticed her look down again with a small smile. I wish she didn't, she was so beautiful... Oh wow! Off topic. What's wrong with me, "My mom and dad are both dead. I come from a planet called Krypton. My planet exploded and, to save me, my parents placed me in a ship and blasted me off into space. I was supposed to come to this planet with my cousin Kal, but my ship got knocked off course and I ended up showing up a little late. When I got here Kal already grew up and became Superman; he didn't need me anymore. So now I use my powers to help the people of National City, as a way of making up for the duty I failed to complete. I help people because I can, these powers give me the chance to help those who need it most. I became a hero to become an inspiration to people, to give them hope for a brighter tomorrow. That's why I do all of this."

She left me speechless. How can a person be so selfless, she nothing to gain out of this and yet she still does it. All so that she can give the people of this city a better future, "Wow... You are amazing."

I noticed she changed colors again; shortly after I realized what I said, "Oh my gosh! I did it again. I really need to think before I talk."

She began laughing at me. That's a good sign, at least I hope it is.

"No it's fine. Don't feel embarrassed Barry.... Oh and to answer that last part of your question, I actually don't have a boyfriend."

She's such a liar, "Oh! Why are you lying. I thought we were getting to know each other here, and you're over here lying to me."

"I'm not lying." Supergirl just kept laughing as I made fun of her, "Look here. Take my phone and look through my pictures. You're not going to find a single picture of a guy in there."

I took the phone she held out for me. I began swiping through the pictures, scanning through all of them. Most of them were funny cute pictures of her and her friends, and every once in a while I would find one of her looking into at the horizon. I'm not going to lie to myself when I say that she looked stunning in them. As I keep swiping through the many, many, many pictures, I began to feel this massive amount of weight get lifted off my shoulders. I don't know what it was, but just knowing that she didn't have a boyfriend made me feel... relieved, "Well I guess everything checks out. Looks like you weren't lying to... me?"

At that moment I stopped swiping. I came to a halt at one picture. What I saw was impossible.

"What? What is it?" Supergirl asked me.

When I looked up at her, I saw a worried expression on her face. I turned the phone around to show her and she let out a small gasp. On the phone there was a picture of a man in a red suit with a lightning bolt symbol on his chest; he had his arms around Supergirl and she had her's around his neck. They were hugging. The most shocking part of about the picture was that the man in the red suit had his mask down, I recognized the face, "That's me."

So that is chapter 6. I had extra time today, so I decided to write and post a second chapter. Thanks to all those that are reading, I hope you guys like it so far. I'm going to be honest with you guys right now, I don't like the pace of the story right now. I didn't think setting up the story was going to take this many chapters. If anyone had read Superflash- Crisis on Earth X, you guys could recognize that I don't like spending to much time in the same location, I like to have the characters move around every chapter. I really like the idea of the story, I'm just not liking the slow pace they are going at. This story was suppose to be much fast, but it's taking a while to even get them into the next day. All the explaining and first time meeting between the two is taking much longer then I thought it was, but don't worry I'm not giving up. I will continue to keep writing, and I'm not going to rush it. I'm not going to all of a sudden change the speed of the story, I'm going to stick with it. Anyway tell me how you guys feel about the story in a comment.
