Darkness. That was all I could see. And quiet. It was so quiet. This is what I like the darkness and peace.
They are just something special. Like my escape. For me this is another world. A place where I forget. All my good and happy memories playing like a movie.
My birthdays with my parents and Tyler. My first shift and how Tyler, mum and dad had been proud of me. Our parent's birthdays and anniversarys where every year Tyler and I would surprise them with something new.
Memories stored in the back of my mind. My first word. The first time I took a step. My first day of pre-school. My first day of elementary school. My first day of high school. All happy memories. My first birthday. My first christmas. My first new years. My first everything. My happy memoories with my family. I looked so happy in those memories.
And then all too soon it ended. Dark red lights shone upon me as whispers and tormented screams surrounded me. All the good memories changed to bad. Every single abuse that happened leading up to the day of my rejection following up to the day. I lost my pup and ran away.
I suddenly felt like I was falling and my eyes shot open as I bolted upright in a... soft bed? My eyes adjusted to the light lightning in the room. There was only a night light on the table besides the bed. I seemed to be lying on a hospital bed with a lot of wires connected to me.
The room was bare and from what I could tell was completely white. I was the only one in the room. There were two doors, one which I am guessing leads to the bathroom and one outside. I tried to remember what happened when all the memories rammed into me full force.
Running away, my wolf leading me onto a territory. Three people out of which one was the Beta. Excruciating pain and then darkness. I didn't know how long I was out for so when a women in late forties wearing a doctor's coat came in, engrossed in the file in her hand I spoke up.
"Excuse me? How long was I out for and where am I? What happened?"
She looked up startled and jumped back in shock. She quickly regained her compoture and smiled warmly at me I don't know why, but I found myself smile back at her just as warmly, which won me another heart-warming smile.
"Oh sweetie your'e awake! You are in Moon Howl Pack. Our Beta, lead tracker and lead warrior discovered a rogue, which turned out to be you, they saw you covered in those cuts, there were scars, and bruises and then you screamed and passed out so they brought you to me. My name is Elizabeth but you can call me Liz and I am the pack doctor and the former Luna. You were in too much pain so we put you in a medicine induced coma to give your wolf time to heal and you have been out for a week. As to what happened, it seems that your bond with your first mate has been severed. It doesn't mean that the bond is broken but it gives your wolf and you a chance to be with someone other than your mate. Since the bond is severed from his side, then if he is alove, he will still feel some effects of the bond, like natural instincts to protect you and of jealousy, but he will also be able to develop feelings for someone else. I am sorry honey." The lady- or Elizabith- said in a sympathetic tone.
"Oh! Well thank you Luna" I bowed my head as a sign of respect. "I had thought that he would sever the mating. I wouldn't expect les- wait first mate!?" I exclaimed as I finally registered her words. I was mumbling the whole other part but I couldn't help my shock.
Elizabeth looks baffled for a second before she composes herself. "Why don't I let my son explain this to you?" It was more of a statement but I complied and waited. Elizabeth's son would be the Alpha!
Blood Howl Pack is the biggest pack in the wold, while my old pack- Sun Dawn Pack is the second biggest pack. We, in Werewolf community don't have a royal family or anything we only have a supernatural council who are also responsible for other supernatural species.
Soon there were 4 pair of footsteps heard and the most delicious scent hit my nose- Pine and the smel of fresh rain which I so passionately love. My wolf was also on edge but I could only make out her confusion. 'How is this possible!? This can't be happening! What if he-'
I blocked her out because I was getting a migriane from all this muttering and confusion. Soon enough the door opened and the smell intensified. I looked up to see who it was and my breath got caught in my throat.
'Mate!?'
My wolf exclaimed in shock. 'What!? How can this be!? I cannot believe it!'
I didn't dare look into my mate's eyes but focused on the three weres behind him.
Those three guys were the ones I first encountered upon entering the territory. The guy whom I had assumed as the Beta obviously was one because now that I wasn't on the brink of passing out, I could clearly see his mark.
When you are in a pack, upon being accepted or born into the pack, you have a mark. It is kind of like a tattoo. It depends upon the pack and the Moon Howl Pack's mark seemed to be of a wolf howling at the moon.
All the high-rank members had a slightly different mark. Their rank that they have is inscribed beneath their mark, which is on their arms, and is written in an old language. Our wolves are the only ones who understand the language and they translate it for us.
The guy with the light-brown- almost blonde- hair and light hazel eyes had the words 'Beta' inscribed beneath his mark. He also had the mating mark on his neck. The twins were also high-ranking members. The one who had more muscle had 'Lead Warrior' inscribed and the one who had a more lean body had the words 'Lead Tracker' inscribed.
Elizabeth introduces the Beta, Lead Warrior, Lead Tracker and Alpha. "This here is my son, Eric Johnson, next to him is the Beta- Adam and beside him are the twins- James Reece who is the Lead Tracker and John Reece who is the Lead Warrior."
I finally gathered enough courage and looked up. I looked at my mate for the first time. He seemed really tall, about 6'8" and his tight and thin white shirt highlighted his 8-pack. The thin fabric seemed as if it was about to rip at any moment due to his muscular frame.
He had cupid-bowed red lips which seemed soft yet a little chapped and a straight nose. His dirty-blonde hair fell onto his mesmerizing blue eyes. His captivating blue eyes held love, lust, sadness and anger.
I whimpered loudly and backed up until my back hit the headboard and buried my head in between my knees. The last time I saw those emotions in someones eyes, I had been used, rejected and tossed aside like a rag-doll by my mate.
I could feel the hurt rolling in waves but the wounds were too fresh. I was too broken.
