My breath became shallow as my sobs finally began to slow to sniffles, and I felt a tiredness wash over my entire body. I tried once again to process the events that had just happened, but I couldn't string anything together.

I looked up from where my gaze sat at my feet and, just in time, too, because I nearly ran into a man who was also looking down.

"Oh, I'm so sorry, Sir-"

"(Y/N)?" My name caught me off guard, and I raised my eyes to see my father standing in front of me. He looked different; his hair was greying, and it looked like he hadn't shaved in weeks. His (e/c) eyes were dull, unlike the bright ones I used to know.

"Dad..." I trailed off as my emotions once again got the best of me and I broke down into tears. I heard my dad inhale sharply before he wrapped me in his arms and held me close. He smelt of cigarettes and alcohol.

"Do you want to, uh... Talk about it?" I chuckled softly at his attempt to comfort me and nodded. "Well, I just got off work, so do you want to go to lunch?"

"That sounds great," I smiled and sniffled.

"Aren't you supposed to be at school?" Dad asked as we walk down the street. I made sure to leave a small gap between us, because although he was my dad, I hadn't seen him in person in over two years.

I laughed a little, but then a frown settled on my face. "Yes..."

"Then why are you here, with me?" My dad's step faltered for a moment but picked up again when I kept walking.

"It's a long story."

"I've got time."

"Peter Parker? As in your best friend Peter Parker?" Dad asked as I shoveled another forkful of waffle into my mouth.

"That's what I said," I responded with a half smile.

Dad sighed. "Sorry, Punkin'. I'm just having a hard time imagining scrawny Parker being all grown and 'buff.'"

I bit my lip at the thought of Peter's arms wrapped around me, his biceps flexed as he held me close. Tears threatened to spill again and I shook my head.

"So do I," I agreed. "Anyway, not the point. Pete and I aren't on great terms right now - hence the reason I'm not at school..."

"Why don't you try talking to him?" Dad asked. I scoffed and took a sip of my coffee.

"I don't even think I can look at him right now, let alone talk with him," a sudden realization hit me and I groaned.

"What's wrong?"

"How am I supposed to go home?"

My Dad scratched his beard with his hand and then looked at me with a blank stare.

"What?" I asked, recognizing his 'idea' face.

"Why don't you move in with me? Only until you've settled everything with Peter," he added quickly at my expression. "I know we haven't talked in a while, but I have an apartment fairly close to your school and an extra room..."

I stared back at my dad, thinking over his offer. On one hand, I would be able to take a break from seeing Peter, but on the other, I hadn't had a good relationship with the man for years.

"Can I have a couple of hours to think it over?" I asked, tucking some hair behind my ear.

"Of course." I picked up my phone to check the time and saw that it was almost the end of the school day and I didn't need May knowing that I had skipped. "Thank you so much for lunch, but I should really get going. May will be wondering where I am."

"Right," Dad smiled at me. I got up from my seat after slinging my bag over my shoulder and began walking toward the door before I turned back.

"See you later, Dad," his smile immediately grew wider and he nodded at me before I walked out the door and onto the street. I felt a wave of happiness come toward me that overpowered the rest, and I couldn't help but smile, too.

After running to the building, I panted up the stairs that led to the apartment and used my powers to unlock the door. I pushed it open and my heart stopped when I saw Peter standing on the other side. I shifted my gaze to the floor and shoved past him.

"(Y/N), wait-"

I didn't hear the rest of his sentence because I ran to my room and slammed the door. I leaned against it and locked the door with my mind before I slid down it, my eyes shut tightly. When I opened my eyes again, I was surprised to see May sitting on my bed.

"Oh, um, hi," I stuttered out and stood up, trying to compose myself. She gave me a sympathetic look. I prayed that she didn't notice me locking the door.

"Hi, Honey," May said and stood up too. "How're you holding up?"

"So, he told you?" I asked with a small frown. She nodded and opened up her arms which I gladly let wrap around me. I started crying again as soon as I dropped my bag onto the ground and hugged the older woman back. "How could I be so stupid?"

"You're not stupid, (Y/N)," May said and stroked my hair in comfort. "Peter just needs to get his priorities straight."

I laughed a little despite myself.

"You know, I think that Tony Stark is influencing him." This really made me laugh and I smiled.

"Thanks, May," I said.

"Anytime."

"But I don't think I can go back out there," I sighed and sat on the edge of my bed. "I don't think I can ever look Peter in the eyes again..."

"I know," May frowned and sat beside me. "Boys can be stupid sometimes."

"You can say that again," I rubbed the wet off of my face. I then remembered my dad's proposition. "Maybe... Maybe I'll go live with my dad for a little bit."

I didn't miss May's shocked expression and felt a little guilty.

"What?"

"Well, I ran into him today," I then proceeded to tell May about my run in with my dad and she just sat there, occasionally nodding her head. "He offered to give me a place to stay for awhile, and I think I might take it."

May sighed, but I could tell she was thinking it over. "If you think that's best..."

"Really?" I asked. May nodded.

"As long as you promise to come back," she said with a small smile. "You should call your dad and tell him to make room."

"Thank you, May," she patted my thigh and stood up, brushing out the wrinkles on her clothes.

"I'll leave you to pack, as I assume you'll be leaving as soon as possible."

I nodded and picked up my phone before dialing the number that I was growing accustomed to. May shut the door quietly behind her as the ringing stopped.

"Hi, Dad?"

I stood by the door with my suitcase beside me and rocked up and down on my heels. I quickly went over everything I needed in my head to make sure that I had everything in my bag.

"Will he be here soon?" May asked from behind the kitchen counter. My dad was coming to pick me up.

"Yeah, he just texted," I nodded.

"I'm going to miss having another girl in the house," May chuckled.

"I'll only be gone until Homecoming," I said. I decided that once Homecoming was over, I'd be able to come back and face Peter.

"I know, but I'll still miss you." May came over and hugged me, and I hugged her back. In all truth, I didn't want to leave May, but I also couldn't face Peter. May had even let me eat dinner in my room because I was too upset to come out.

"I'll miss you too." A car's horn honking a couple of times made us separate and I took a deep breath. "Well, here I go."

"I'll see you soon, (Y/N)," she said. I had secretly hoped that Peter would come say bye, too, but I wasn't surprised. I also wasn't that sad, either. Seeing him only would have made it harder to leave.

I smiled and turned around, opened the door and marched out, but not before hearing Peter's voice behind me. I looked back quickly and saw only May there who has started to close the door. I realized I heard Peter's thoughts.

I focused on Peter again, and heard it this time more clearly.

"What did I do?"

Hey, Lovelies!
Ok ok, I know I haven't posted in almost a month and I am so sorry. I haven't been feeling completely motivated to write this story lately.
But, as we are reaching the end of the story, I will try to update more often.
I also got a question of if I'm planning to write a FFH fanfic, and my answer right now is I'm not sure right now. By the end of Endgame, I think I will have a for sure answer for you all.
Until next time :)
