"No way! You have to tell me, Kusuo-"
Kaidou had trouble saying his name
"How do you know it's not something stupid"
"You wouldn't make a big deal out of something stupid"
"How do you know?"
A few beats went by, Kaidou bit his lips in response. He wanted to say that he knew Saiki, but Saiki could hide things from him so easily.
"Because you're my best friend" Kaidou finally said.
He did know Saiki well. Though Saiki hid the fact that he was a psychic, Kaidou couldn't say that he was completely oblivious. He did have a suspicion that Saiki was hiding something, ever since the summer trip right before they became third years.
"I won't. I'm not going to ruin anything"
"S- Kusuo..."
The bathroom door opened. And Kusuo walked past Kaidou.
"Shun?" He turned around "I need to tell myself the secret before I can tell you"
Shun nodded You can always talk to me.
Kusuo snapped around to look at him
"Did you... Say something?"
Shun shook his head, confused.
"...nevermind"
Realization spread over Shuns face- though, I wouldn't be sure that it's realization. Since it wasn't the truth. But let's call it that.
"Are you getting your powers back?!"
'....'
"Is that what you wanted to tell me?"
'...No, no way..!'
Shun ran over, grabbing the sleeve of Kusuo's shirt.
"Saiki! You're fine!!" He said, looking into Kusuo's eyes "I'll always be your best friend."
“you should go.”
“Kusu-”
“I'll see you tomorrow.”
“...goodbye”
