"Oh my God! I can't believe you actually got us in here!" Squeals your best friend, looking around ecstatically at the college party that surrounds you. You grin at her, the din too loud to even try to respond coherently. Really you weren't even the one that had gotten you into the party, it was your older brother who knew a guy who knew the host.

"Oh, no big deal, just a little fun for me and my best friend." You throw out there as if it is just another party, it's not just another party, it's the biggest party of the year and you both knew it. She scoffed rolling her eyes at you before grabbing your hand and letting out a little squeal as she drags you towards the dance floor of sweaty bodies holding solo cups like any party. You can't resist as you just let her drag you along to the fringes of the mob before finally standing your ground when she tries to pull you in further with a little pout of her lips. She tries to yell something over the pounding music but it doesn't even register as noise in your brain so you try to read her lips instead, it looked something like don't want drink. You simply nod your head ok to her before she simply drops your arm and wiggles through the crowd, disappearing in seconds. Abandoned in the first 5 minutes of people you didn't know you kinda just sway awkwardly to the profane lyrics that beat their way out of the speakers.

Groaning internally at the fact that you have to dive into the fray and begin to squeeze your way through such profusely smelly bodies. Someone's particularly wild dance move manages to trip you as you knock into someone rather rudely. The buff looking guy turns around quickly, glaring at you and before an apology can even leave your lips someone pulls you behind them and you hear the ever so familiar voice of Clayton Marcel, your brother's best friend.

"H-hey guys! What's up! I'm sorry about (your embarrassing nickname) here, they're just a little clumsy. Promise it won't happen again." The guy pretty much ignores Clay and just turns back to his friends with a swig from the cup. Before you can escape the disastrous encounter the male whirls around and gives you the biggest, cheesiest grin possible. "Hello gorgeous, long time no see, good thing I was here to save the day right! Why the hell are you even here anyway?" His fast-talking slightly west coast accent made you smile just the smallest bit. He was flirtatious, but not in the usual cool way that most guys from your town did it, no, this was was the obnoxiously cute rambling of a guy who constantly turned up at your house to pick up your brother and you for school or just to hang out.

"You know I could have taken care of myself, but thanks anyway. And Jordan (your brother) invited us, said it was alright with the host if we came." You answer, knowing that he was obviously suspicious of sneakily following my brother. He frowned and zmade a show of looking all around you with mockery.

"Ah yes, because you definitely have a friend to take to this exclusive of a party. Did they find you so embarrassing that they ditched you already?" He asked, the goofy grin turning into a mock pout as he folded his arms across his chest like a toddler who just found a reason to pity his friend. You return his fake pity with a glare before shaking your head at him.

"Funny, really witty, but I am actually here with someone thank you, I'm here with my boyfriend." You reply, perhaps it is a lie, but neither he nor your brother had any interest in your love life so how would they know, "He just went to get us a drink." You say, nonchalantly, avoiding the burning gaze of Clay into the side of your face. You glance at him as he stands there, not saying a thing before scoffing, taking a swig of something in the cup he is holding before forcing himself through the crowd away from you in the opposite direction. A small frown traces your lips as you watch him go without a word, how odd was he acting. You shrug it off not worrying about it, it wasn't as if you really knew him anyway, what did you care.

After another hour of your friend turning up missing you finally give up and walk outside. You weren't having any fun, the closest you had to a real conversation was standing beside the ping pong table as a group of abnormally oversized and hairy guys played beer pong obnoxiously. You still hadn't touched a drop of what was in your cup as you tossed it aside into the overflowing bin by the curb. Your hands are shoved deep into the tight pockets of your jean shorts as you walk, eyes fixated on the ground. It was supposed to be a fun night, you were supposed to hang out all night long, two gals just drinking and having some laughs, possibly making out with some random college hottie. But no, she just had to ditch you! You fume as you scuff a rock along, a deep frown etched into your face as you walk.
