I am in my apartment relaxing after getting home from my first shift as a night guard at the museum of natural history. It was a great first day on the job, i got to meet the pharaoh Ahkmenrah I head into my bedroom and i changed into my pajamas and i went to sleep tired from being up all night.
i let out a groan as i open my eyes i sit up and i look around wondering what woke me up, i hear a noise coming from the living room so i make my way over to the living room to see that Nico is standing there. "Hey Nico what brings you here?" i greet
"it's been a while since we saw each other and i thought that we could catch up with each other" Nico answers
"Nico after i finished School i went straight to finding a job and with my luck with Monsters going for me at end of term regarding schooling and with how many schools i have been kicked out of i knew i wasn't going to get into any college, i got a job at the museum of natural history as a night guard. I've done the first night shift and it is more interesting than you think it would be. What's been going on with you?" i say
"I've mostly been doing quests for father, what's so interesting about this night guard job?" Nico responds and we chat about various subjects until i noticed the time and told him i had to leave soon for my second night on the job and we exchanged greetings and Nico left through shadow travel and i got prepared to do my job. I left my apartment and made my way to the museum.
"Hey Larry why do you have a big bag?" I ask
"You'll see" Larry exclaims and i go into the staff room and i put my bag down and i head for the egyptian exhibit. I don't think i want to know what exactly Larry is up to i enter the egyptian exhibit and i take off the slab and put it on the floor just as the tablet came to life. Ahkmenrah carefully takes the lid off and gets out of the sarcophagus and greets me.
Ahkmenrah and i are getting to know each other better by taking turns telling the other things about our past. We watch as a toy car goes racing past us with a bone tied to it and not long after a dinosaur goes past following the toy car. I told Ahkmenrah I'd be right back and i went to check on the other exhibits which were chaos, i put the fire out and returned to the egyptian exhibit.
"Have you been in a relationship before Amphy?" Ahkmenrah asks
"I had a boyfriend called Luke Castellan but he died protecting me from an attack" I answer with a sad smile
"I'm sorry to hear that" Ahkmenrah exclaims all off a sudden a shadow portal appears and out comes Nico. After i explain in egyptian that Nico is not here to harm anyone the anubis statues went back to their positions.
"I am Ahkmenrah, fourth king of the four kings and ruler of the land of my fathers" Ahkmenrah says to Nico
"My name is Nico Di Angelo son of Hades" Nico introduces himself
"What brings you here Nico?" i inquire
"i was doing a quest from my father when i ran into a demigod who had your trident, i got it from her after making sure that the demigod learned to not keep things that don't belong to them" Nico says and gives my trident necklace back to me. I put the necklace on
"Thanks Nico for finding it" I say gratefully
"No problem, i'll be going now" Nico says
"Nico hold on can you take that slab with you?" i ask before Nico could step through the shadow portal.
"Alright i will be going now" Nico says and picks up the slab and goes through the shadow portal and the portal disappears
"That's a beautiful necklace, who gave it to you?" Ahkmenrah asks
"My father gave it to me, it turns into my trident" I answer
"can i see your trident?" Ahkmenrah asks
"Sure" i voice and i take the necklace off and i turned my necklace into a gold trident and i hand it to Ahkmenrah to have a close look at it.
"Your trident is cool, do you have a name for it?" Ahkmenrah comments handing my trident back to me. I turn my trident back into necklace form.
"I don't have a name for it yet, not that long after i got it, it was stolen by a girl called Annabeth Chase" I answer and Ahkmenrah takes my necklace of my trident and he puts the clasps of the necklace together at the back of my neck then moves to face me.
"Do you feel ready to move on from Luke?" Ahkmenrah asks
"I think after a couple months i will be ready to move on from Luke" i answer after thinking about the question for a bit. I check the time to see how much time there is left before Ahkmenrah has to go back into his sarcophagus. I look up and i notice that Ahkmenrah is hyperventilating while staring at the sarcophagus. I help Ahkmenrah out of the panic attack he is having and he eventually came out of the panic attack.
"Thank you Effie, i panicked at the thought i will need to go back in there soon" Ahkmenrah voices
"It's alright Ahkmenrah, i can help you get over your fear if you want" i offer
"I would appreciate your help with getting over the fear i have" Ahkmenrah accepts my offer to help him and we notice that it is time for him to go back into the sarcophagus
"Just remember you can't be sealed in there anymore with the block gone alright" I say softly with a smile
"I will Sleep well Effie" Ahkmenrah exclaims
"I will, have good dreams Ahkmenrah" i voice with a smile and he goes into the sarcophagus and i put the lid on the sarcophagus and i have just finished putting the lid on when morning came and my shift is over. I did some cleaning up in the Museum from the chaos that erupted and i managed to talk Dr McPhee out of firing Larry as well as me for not putting more effort at stopping him and i bid them goodnight and i left the Museum and headed to my apartment.
