You are distracted from your Potions work when a piece of parchment flutters in front of you, the edges of the paper acting like flapping wings. It flies around for a few seconds, then floats down to land on your desk. You grin at the beauty of such a small, simple spell.
Picking it up, you unfold the note and read. In small, neat writing, it reads:

Will you please come to the ball with me?

Your heart skips a beat when you read the initials of who sent it. Ron Weasley.
You look across the classroom at him. He is already staring at you when you catch his eye. He looks down quickly, cheeks flushed. You feel giddy from his reaction.

You scribble down a little tick in the 'yes' box. Then you fold the paper and hold it in your palms. You blow on it gently, and it flutters back to Ron. He catches it in his hands and opens it quickly, desperate to find out your answer. You watch as a wide grin spreads over his face. He glances up at you, and you flash him a toothy smile back.
