" You know that girl ? " Jess asked from the passenger seat .

" Not really I just met her today " I said as she put my hand on her thigh .

" She kinda cute , put me on " Malik said from the back seat .

" I don't know , she seems off . I don't want to sound like an asshole but she might have autism , slightly " I said reluctantly making everyone in the car laugh .

" That's fucked up chilllll she's pretty tho " Liza giggled .

" Yeah she ight " Jess said & it got quiet . I glanced at her & focused back on driving .

Something about that girl was mysterious . After dropping everyone at home , I finally got to relax at my apartment . I opened up my laptop & attempted to do some work but the thought of that girl kept bugging me .

I logged onto my school account & did some digging & ended up finding her school account . The only thing I had access to was her email . karinabina@nyu.edu

I collapsed on the couch sighing in relief after finally finishing all my chores . I looked at the time & realized it was time to pick my little brother up from the bus stop . He was only 5 & although he knew his way home , my mom didn't want him walking home yet .

" Hey Kadey Kade " I said throwing my arm over his shoulder .

" Hi Rinaaa " He went on & on about his day & even continued while I fixed him some cereal .

I put some cartoons on in his room & went to mine to start some homework . Opening my laptop , i already got a notification . I figured it was something for school so I checked my email .

But it wasn't from school .

I don't want to be weird but this was the only way I knew how to contact you & I just wanted to get to know you more .

I shut my laptop closed & shoved it under the pillow . How could I possibly interest someone like him ?

I jumped when I heard my phone ringing but quickly searched for it once I realized it was my mom's ring .

I answered her ft call " Hi mommy what's up "

" Did you get your brother ? "

" Yes like I do every day " I responded .

" Okay what about chores ? "

" Done . "

" Okay . Nobody in the house . See you later " She said & hung up . After taking my mind off the email I fell asleep & didn't wake back up until it was dark .

" Kade ? " I called out for my brother walking into his room but he was sound asleep so I closed his door .

My phone started ringing & it was my mom again . Sheesh what did this lady want ?

" I need you to get Kade's hair cut " She said urgently

" What ? Why ? It's late ! " I complained

" He has school pictures tomorrow morning and I won't have time to take him , drop him at school , & make it to work on time " She explained .

" Okay don't worry about it mommy I'll find somewhere " I said looking at the time which was 8:45 . What barber shop would be open at this time of night ??
