A sleek brown figure moved about the trees silently, it had been a long journey and the black mass of fur he carried in his mouth wriggled impatiently. "Be still Raven," he murmured around the pup's scruff, "we're almost there." The wolf leapt onto a rock ledge and disappeared into a deep crevice in the mountain side. The brute dropped the pup into a nest of moss and licked her gently. He glanced around nervously before curling up around the shivering bundle. Sighing he placed his head over her, "I'll keep you safe, Raven. It's okay now."
