Shallow Wells

Water trickles down the stones in streams.

A girl lies dead, her body cold and weak.

Shallow wells are deeper than they seem.

They drown the ones you never thought would sink.

Author's Note:

This poem was inspired/based off of a book of poems written by Infinitely_Burning called "Shallow Wells". (Please check out that book if you haven't already, it's truly incredible❤️) Sorry this poem was kind of morbid... I was stuck trying to write the second line, and that seemed to be the only line that would work. I promise not all of my poems are this dark🙃.
