Rain

Words become whispers,

And lies age poorly in time.

If ignorance is bliss,

Then don't show me mine.

The droplets of you,

Sometimes seem to align,

and through the rain,

Are shadows that aren't mine.

They echo their laughs,

They take you away,

And I break myself,

Because I can't make you stay.

Since lies are blind,

My eyes close,

Because what I don't know,

Will never make me cry.

Can rain wash away tears,

can it stream away my pain,

or does waiting in your fall,

Bring more of the same?

The attic of my heart,

throws dust to the wind,

It swirls and falls,

always on your name.

A light shines through,

where the droplets lay,

A hole in my heart,

Tells me what to say.

I gave you everything,

I risked all my love,

But those shadows won't sink,

They never planned to stay.

Words become whispers,

And lies age poorly in time,

If ignorance is bliss,

Then God made us blind.
