I stepped through this river,
Only to feel the water bitter.
I looked up to the sky,
Only to see the light cry.
I laid down to touch the earth,
Only to sense despair in its birth.
I felt the blood of war,
of which many lives were torn.
I saw the tears of centuries,
passed down by regretful enemies.
I sensed the entirety of it all,
will we never get past this wall?
Forever ignorant to the earth's call.
