Did I die? Am I in heaven? Man it's soft here.
Then I opened my eyes. I was on a bed.
Oh yeah.
I looked at the time. 8:46 am.
Wow I didn't have any nightmares and I slept in!
I can't tell if this is good or bad.
I got up from the bed and made my way downstairs when I started to smell something good.
When I got to the kitchen, the boys were drinking coffee at the table.
"Morning Eb," they said and unison. I quietly chuckled.
"You came down just in time, I was just about to take the muffins out of the oven." Briar said, standing up.
I nodded my head.
Briar came back with a plate full of blueberry muffins.
"Careful, they are still hot," said Briar.
As soon as I grabbed one, I dug in.
"Oh my gosh, these are amazing."
"I agree with her bro, these are awesome." Blake said as he got up.
I turned to Briar. "What are you doing today?"
"Remember, you me and Blake are going to get you a protection animal."
"Oh yeah, my bad," I said nodding my head.
Blake came back with a mug. He placed it in front of me. Now I could see it had tea in it. My favorite tea to be exact.
"Thank you, how did you know this is my favorite?" I asked.
I have no recollection of telling them my favorite tea and food. Much less telling them that I loved having tea and muffins together.
"Protector instincts" Blake said with a smile.
"Uh...ok?" I said with utter confusion.
I started playing with my braid. It's just an old habit of mine.
"She's playing with her hair. I remember her mother doing that all too often."
"I know, her personality is a complete mix between her parents," I heard both of the boys talking. I looked up.
"My mom did the same thing with her hair?"
Both of them looked at me.
"Yes, how did you know?" They said again in unison.
"What do you mean how do I know? you just said it."
They both looked at each other with smiles on their faces.
Ok they have gone completely crazy.
"Looks like Ebony got her first ability." Blake said.
I looked at them for a few seconds.

And then finally I said something.
"Are you guys on drugs?"
They both let out a loud belly laugh.
Meanwhile I was still confused.
"Relax you just read our minds," Briar said.
"That's it I'm checking both of you into rehab," I said standing up.
"Wait wait sit back down," Blake said while laughing. Not as hard as Briar though.
He couldn't even talk. I sat back down when Briar sobered up enough to talk.
"Look at me," said Blake. I looked at him.
"Do you see my lips moving?" When he said that, his lips didn't move.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Wait, hold up do it again."
"See your reading my mind, my lips still aren't moving."
I sat there with wide eyes. "Ok?" I said slowly.
"So you guys were communicating via your minds?" I asked quizzically.
They nodded their heads.
"Can I communicate to you guys through my head?"
"Sure just imagine talking to me or Blake or even both of us." Briar was talking but his lips weren't moving. I'm going nuts.
I imagined talking to both of them.
Ok I'm probably really crazy for this, but if you can hear me, clap once.
They both looked at each other before clapping once.
If you can hear this, clap twice.
They both clapped twice.
"Well... ok then," I said, my eyes still wide.
They both chuckled.
"Ok get ready to go get a pet," said Blake.
I nodded and stood up to go to my room.
After I brushed my teeth I put on a black hoodie with a rose on it and black leggings. Then I put on my black flats.
After I put my hair into a pony tail, I went down stairs.
The boys were in the living room with Blake wearing a black leather jacket, a black shirt and black jeans and black boots and with Briar wearing a black pea coat, a black shirt, black jeans and also black boots.
I started to laugh. "We look like we are going to a funeral," I said while still laughing.
They both chuckled. "We all ready?" Asked Brian. Briar and I nodded our heads and made our way to the car.
"So where are we going exactly? I mean I know to get an animal but where are we going?" I asked.
"Their is a store that has what we are looking for a few miles away, but stay close to us when we get there," Blake spoke with seriousness in his eyes.
