Naomi

The coffee date conversation was completely unexpected to say the least. I told him about Jacob. I told him about my abusive ex-boyfriend. I wasn't planning on telling him about that. I never thought the conversation would lead to me telling Mena about Jacob.

But then again, I liked telling him about it. I felt like I wasn't trapped anymore. I felt like I was somewhat safe.

I knew his promise was true. I knew that I was going to get by this struggle because Mena was there helping me throughout everything. And for that, he is incredible.

We switched the subject after talking about my situation and then we started laughing like we were teenagers again. I don't know how but somehow he had a way of making me feel better, despite any problem I was dealing with.

He knows how to make me smile, and we've only known each other for a few days. I mean, how amazing is that?

We ended up leaving the coffee shop at around three o'clock, which meant we pretty much spent almost five hours talking, joking, venting, you name it.

When we were leaving, Mena gave me his address, so I could follow him to his apartment with my car. He convinced me to stay at his home for a few nights until we got the whole Jacob situation fixed.

When we got to his apartment, I fell in love with it. It was so cozy and simple.

"It's beautiful." I whisper as he shows me around. He turns around and smiles at me with that stunning smile of his, "You think so?" He asks, and I nod.

He showed me he has a guest bedroom and that I could sleep there for a few nights and I thanked him. Tomorrow, we were going to go back to my place to get some of my stuff, without Jacob noticing. It was going to be a bit hard, but we were planning to go when he wasn't inside the house.

"I'll lend you some clothes for tonight so you can sleep and tomorrow we'll get the rest of your clothes, alright?" He says.

"Okay, perfect." I say. "Thank you so much, Mena. I really appreciate this." I smile and he does too.

"No need to thank me."

After showering, I got dressed into some basketball shorts and a hoodie of Mena's. It was so big on me, yet so comfortable. We both went to sleep in our rooms and it was probably the best sleep I ever got in my life. Just knowing he was sleeping in the room next to me gave me peace.

For once, I didn't worry about Jacob. I didn't think about him or his actions. For once, I was calm and at peace. And it was all thanks to Mena.
