"No, absolutely not Adylyn" mom says shaking her head. "Why not? I trust him" I say sitting at the table. "Ady, you can't just tell random people" mom shakes her head as she wipes a glass clean. "He's not random, he's my friend and he believes in this shit" I wave my hands dramatically. Mom sighs and faces me. "Please mom, I trust him" I say with a sigh. "Honey, do you think that's a good idea?" mom asked. I thought about it for a second. "Yes, I do I can't keep hiding it from him. He asks me every time I see one if I'm okay and I say I'm fine but really I'm entranced by one" I complain. Mom sighs. "Please mom" I say. "Alright, alright" she says wiping off her glasses. "Thank you, mom," I say hopping down from the stool. She nods as I scurry off to call Ethan. I was so nervous. I don't want to lose him as a friend. If this is it, I won't be upset.

I sat on my bed. My thumb hovering over his contact. "Just do it, Adylyn" I say to myself. I hit call and put my phone to my ear. "Hey Ady!" Ethan says. "Hey, E are you busy?" I asked. "No, what's up?" he asked. "Meet me in the park in ten" I say. "Sure, is everything okay?" Ethan asked. "Yeah, yeah well no" I say. "Okay, now I'm worried" Ethan laughs nervously. "Don't be" I say laughing. "Alright, see you in ten" he smiled. "See you in ten" I say hanging up. I don't know how to EVEN start this conversation. "Hey Ethan! I see ghosts!" I shake my head. I shove my apparition journal in my bag. Mom doesn't even know I write down every ghost I see so I can keep track. I've seen 20 so far, that's a lot of phantoms if you ask me. I inhale then exhaled as I put on my beat-up sneaks. "I'm going" I called. "Okay honey" mom smiled who was now sitting in front of the TV. I grabbed my bike from the garage and rode to the park. There was a pit in my stomach full of nerves. I hope this goes well.

I reach the park and text Ethan asking him if he's here. He replied saying he was. I locked my bike and walked to our bench. It's under a tree and on a track. I threw on my bag and walked. It was such a nice day today. Little kids were playing whilst the parents gossiped about random shit. They were oblivious what's about to go down. I reached the bench and Ethan had his earphones on. I sat next to him and tapped on his shoulder. "Gah! Fuck Ady you scared me" E placed a hand on his heart. "Sorry, sorry" I say laughing taking off my bag. "It's okay" he takes off his earphones and places it on his neck. "So, what do you need to talk about?" Ethan asked. "So, you know I look off somewhere and you asked me if I'm okay?" I asked looking anywhere but his face. "Yeah?" he asked. "I lie, every time because well I see" I wait for a family and their dog to walk by. "You see what?" Ethan looks at me. "Ghosts? Apparitions? I'm a paranormal psychic" I dug out my Apparition Journal and handing it to him. "Here, read this it has all my paranormal experiences and shit when your done if you don't want to be friends anymore, I understand" I say standing up. Ethan grabbed my wrist. "Ady, I'll still be your friend no matter what" he said with a smile. "Still, read it and tell me after" I say slinging my bag around my body. "I will, trust me" he smiled. "Thanks" I smiled. "Of course," he says I looks at the notebook like it was an artifact. "You can read it, E" I say. "I will" he nods. "Thanks, Ethan" I tell him. "Sure" he gets up and walks with me. "I believe you, Ady" Ethan tells me holding my journal under his arm. I look up at him. "You do?" I asked startled. "Yeah, why wouldn't I?" Ethan asked. "I dunno, I thought you would think I'm a weirdo or something" I shrug. "Adylyn, you're my best friend as a bestie I should believe you" Ethan nudges me. I laugh. "I'm glad" I smiled getting on my bike. "Uh-uh nope I'm taking you home in a car" he laughs shoving my bike in his trunk. "Fine" I laughed.

A few weeks went by, Ethan came to my locker my book in hand. "Hey Ady" he smiled. "Hey!" I smiled. "Do you need this back?" he asked handing me my journal back. "Yeah, thanks" I say shoving it in my bag. "It was interesting, your journal" Ethan said with a smile. "Yeah?" I looked at him. "Yeah, I like how you jot down all the" he paused as a group of students walked by. "Well, you know" he slings an arm around my shoulders. "Yeah, it keeps me sane" I joked. "Yeah, I understand" he nods opening the door for me.

We both knew that me telling him about my abilities could change everything between us. He's in this now and he's not getting out of this, this easily.
