The small crescent shaped pod flew through the sky, spinning and twirling out of control. Asteroid after asteroid, hitting the pod. The pilot was unable to take back control. Pressing the emergency buttons, slowly loosing oxygen as the ship of metal was hit again.
"Patch! Come in Patch!" The sound of a worried dispatcher was thrown through the air, nearly being tuned out by the sirens of emergency. A panicked hand grabbed the radio, trying to stay in the pilot seat. "Dispatch! I can't control the ship! There's too many asteroids-!" The young pilot screamed as the pod was hit by another asteroid, cracking the windshield glass.
The young woman started to get light headed as air escaped faster than before, and she knew she had to get the helmet and tank on before it was too late. She held herself up as she hurried to the back of the pod, putting on the suit and helmet as quickly as she could. "(Y/n) Patch! Do you read me!?" The pilot ignored the calls of dispatch, knowing what was more important at the moment.
She turned the oxygen tank on, gasping and thankful for the extra tank on board. She grabbed the radio once again, trying to gain control of the pod. "I'm here! I'm here!" A large asteroid came towards her, one that was nearly as big as the moon. She screamed, knowing she couldn't get around it in time.
The asteroid approached her, and she turned away with a flinch, waiting for the impact to arrive. But it didn't. She was on the other side of the asteroid. "But.. how..?" She spoke to herself, looking around in confusion. She quickly snapped out of it and grabbed the radio, still trying to gain control of the pod that was now falling down to earth.
"Mayday! Mayday! I'm falling back to Earth!" The only reply she got was static. The pod got closer and closer to the planet. She tried again. "Mayday! Please! Mayday!" The pod turned into a ball of fire as it entered the atmosphere, and the young pilot knew today would be her last.
