Journal entry |46|

It's been a week since I turned into a duck, and let me just say I don't feel any different. Except physically. I trip on my feet, and I'm not used to having four fingers. It's weird having a bill as well. Besides that, today's my birthday, and no one woke me up. I slept in until 9:30 this morning, and I felt a bit excited for my birthday for the first time, like, ever. Anyway,  I looked at my phone and saw a message from Fenton. He asked to hang out and get breakfast, so now is the big moment of asking Scrooge if I can. I haven't hung out with Fenton since... the incident, but that's because I've been busy with SCrooge and the Crystal situation. I dunno, I'm gonna go ask now.

I closed the journal and stood up, grabbing my phone and my new (F/c) jacket I got from Gyro's gun thing, putting it on and my black shoes, fixing my hair into the bun and checking myself in the mirror. I smirk at myself and point finger guns at my reflection. "You are one shmexy duck, (Y/n)." I chuckle at myself, walking away from the mirror and out the door. I walk down the stairs, smelling some pancakes and bacon. I smiled and walk into the dining room, seeing the whole family sitting at the table, eating normally.

I smile and sit in my regular seat. Webby looked like she was about to explode, and I tilted my head. "Uh.. Webby? You okay?" Dewey quickly put a hand on her mouth and smiled. "Yep! She's fine! Totally fine! She just forgot her bow. Come on Webby I'll go with you to get it." He quickly took her out of the room, and I just blinked a few times. "But.. Didn't she have it on..?" I look at the others, and Louie quickly spoke. "Oh, hey, look at these yummy pancakes!" He quickly shoved a ton of pancakes into his mouth. I slowly looked away. "Okaaaaaaaayyyyyyy..." I smiled and looked at Scrooge. "Anyway, I was wondering if I could go with Fenton to get breakfast? He invited me this morning."

Scrooge smiled and swallowed the piece of food he was chewing. "Course lass, just be home by 3 today." I smiled and nodded, grabbing a piece of bacon and heading out. "I'll see you guys later." I walked out of the dining room, texting Fenton. We agreed to meet at the money bin, and he'd show me to the breakfast place. I put my phone back in my pocket after texting Fenton, and headed out of the house and down the hill, towards the money bin. It was weird to walk through the city, since I turned into a duck and I wasn't receiving the different looks I got as a human.

There were no 'dirty looks' anymore, just being ignored or a polite smile and/or hello. It was kind of nice. I eventually made it to the front of the money bin, seeing Fenton waiting patiently for me. When he saw me he smiled, walking over to me. "Hey (Y/n), ready to go?" I smiled and waved at him. "Yep. Where are we going?" "Well, there's this diner down the road called 'Parsley Diner. It's a family owned diner, and they have a pretty good breakfast menu." I nodded at him. "Well, lead the way, Mr. Scientist." We both chuckled and he led me to the diner.

The place was a small, happy looking building. The exterior was a cream-white color, with tan shutters and a bright red roof. It had a decorative wood door with carvings of leaves of the wood door frame, and at the top of the door frame was carved with what I was assuming was the founder's name. It said 'Bailey Parsley's Place.' The whole building gave off a sweet, happy vibe, and I smiled at the cute place. Fenton smiled at me. "I come here every Saturday, they know me pretty well." He held open the door, and I heard a little bell go off. "After you." I chuckled and walked in. "Thanks Fenton."

Immediately, I was hit with the smell of sweet coffee and pancakes, along with a warm gust of wind. The walls were a wooden and stone texture. There were about 12 tables, each having four seats, along with a counter with 6 stools. The stools and seat cushions were the same color red as the roof, and the tables were oak wood. The floor was an acacia wood, and the counter was a polished stone with oak wood on top of it. There were wood beams holding up the structure, as long as acting as decor, and there was a window into the kitchen. I couldn't see much, but I did see there was one stove and oven, along with pans hanging from the ceiling.
