Synopsis:
Chan takes you to an arcade and attempts to impress you

🌙

You stood at your lockers with your friends, laughing and talking about your plans for the weekend when you noticed they all went quiet all of a sudden.

"What's wrong?"

"Behind you," one of your friends whispered, giggling to herself.

You turned around to see Chan standing there, looking a bit off from how he normally looked. There was something nervous feeling about him, like he was worried or scared.

"Hiya, Channie!" You exclaimed, pulling him into a hug. He stiffened up, seeming shocked. You hugged him a lot but he was always awkward about it at first. Finally, he set into it, hugging you back. "How are you?"

"I'm good, (Y/N), how are you?"

"We better get going!" Your friends said, seeming in a hurry to get away.

"Wait, I'll come with-"

"No, stay and talk to Chan for a bit!"

Odd...

They all went off and you turned your attention back to Chan, smiling at him. It wasn't like you didn't enjoy talking to Chan. He was pretty new to the school but quickly you two became close.

He happened to be in all but one of your classes, so you spent a lot of time together. He was such a kind person, always smiling and really seemed to listen. If you were honest, you had a bit of a crush on him...

"I'm okay, excited for the weekend. I won't have to deal with Miss Grey, so that's a plus!"

"Oh, she hates me already because I handed in my homework late once."

You both talked casually for a little bit but the whole time you got the sense he was holding something back from you. Plus, he still looked very nervous. You hoped he was okay.

You checked the time, feeling bad to have to go but your parents didn't like you staying behind at school for too long.

"Hey, I'm really sorry but I've got to get home. See you Monday?" You went to walk away but he yelled 'wait!' stopping you in your tracks. "Yeah?"

He awkwardly scratched the back of his head, struggling to get any words out. He stumbled, stuttering until finally he said, "You like arcades?"

It took you by surprise when he asked that. You hadn't really ever been to one properly, although you knew there was one close by. You talked a lot in classes, he hadn't ever mentioned like arcades or games.

"I've never been to one," you admitted to him.

His face flushed red and he turned awkward again. "I-uh, it's OK. Just forget that I said anything-"

"Did you want to go to one?"

"It's a stupid idea. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have said anything."

Why is he acting so odd? You wondered. You two had never met up outside of school before, maybe he was just nervous at the idea. I wonder why...
