You and your boyfriend Chan had been dating for the past two years and, although things had started great, they'd begun to get a little bit...well, strained recently.

He clearly was stressed out with his work. Which, you didn't blame him for at all. You knew the life of an idol was hard and stressful. Chan had prepared you for that when you'd first started dating.

"Y/N, dating me is very difficult. I mean, not as in I'm difficult, but my work makes things a lot more complicated."

"I don't mind-"

He sighed, "I just need you to really understand before we get serious. I work a lot of hours and I'm on tour constantly. It'll be mostly long distance and-"

You'd cut him off with a kiss. You felt how tense he was but he quickly relaxed and wrapped his arms around you, pulling you close to him.

When you pulled away, you looked deep into his dark eyes and felt confident in your decision. "Chan, I don't care how hard this will be. I love you. It's worth it for you."

You had meant it when you'd said it but it had turned out to be a thousand times harder than you had ever imagined it could be.

All those lonely nights, after work where you'd slump into bed...alone. You'd check your phone and see 6 messages from Chan, from a couple of hours ago when you were busy. When you texted him back, he must have been busy, or asleep.

It'd be days and days of stalled conversations, hours and hours for a reply. Sleeping in a bed all by yourself, cuddling your pillow and pretending it was Chan.

His world tour had ended but now he was back to touring around South Korea. Which meant, same time zones and more chances to see each other.

Right now was one of those times. He sat at the dining table, looking half asleep while you cooked for him. He was so exhausted you just wanted to take care of him.

"What's that smell?" He asked suddenly, seeming to snap out of his little gaze.

You'd already told him. But you understood that he was probably tired and that's why he had forgotten.

"Dak Bulgogi," You said with a smile, but your enthusiasm was quickly crushed when Chan sighed.

It was clearly a sigh of annoyance. You trained to push it to the side. He was just tired! Once he tried it, he would love it - and hopefully cheer up a little bit.

You put the finishing touches of the dak bulgogi and brought the dishes to the table. As you placed at down, you gleefully cheered Voilà!

He didn't look super pleased. But didn't say anything in particular so you just sat down and waiting impatiently for him to take a bite.

You had worked really hard on it and was sure it would taste amazing. Chan finally lifted his chopstick and took a piece, unenthusiastically placing it in his mouth and chewing.

"Well?" You asked, desperate to know if he liked it.

All he said was, "My exes was better," before putting the stick down and not even bothering to eat more.

You snapped. You had put up with his bad mood for so long, pushing it aside and assuming it was just because he was tired. Really, he was a soft and loving person - but he had pushed you too far.

"Then go get her to make you it next time."

"Oh, don't be like that Y/N. I didn't mean it in a bad way-"

"Well, what other way am I supposed to take it, huh?"

"Stop acting like such a child."

"I could say the same to you."

He just rolled his eyes. You decided you didn't want to deal with this anymore.

"I want to break up."

That got his attention. "W...what?"

"If being around me makes you this miserable, I think we should just break up."

"Don't be so rash-"

"I'm going for a bath to relax. When I come out, I expect you and any of your stuff to be gone. Goodbye, Chan."

You got up and left the table, going up the stairs. You didn't either bother to look at Chan. You probably couldn't have handled it. You loved him so much, you couldn't even truly believe it was over for good now...
