Proposal OneShot

Prompt: Someone proposes.

*****

YG's mornings were soft and glorious, all golden light and faint chirps of birds who sang their greetings. It was a different atmosphere than the one Jisoo and Jennie had made, back in Los Angeles. Things were rushed, there. Exciting, extravagant, but certainly not calm.

YG was their retreat, their escape back home. Everyone already knew them there, so there wasn't much of a shift in their everyday lives. While many of their friends had started migrating to LA in search of job opportunities, their parents retained their homes in YG as a sort of last ditch attempt to maintain their roots.

And so, whenever the young couple needed an escape from the hustle of their ridiculously fast paced lives, they scooped up their "children" (of the furry variety), and took Jennie's charter back home.

Because that's what YG was. Their first home.

They'd opted for a nice apartment in the quiet wealthy back hills of the city, not aiming for the upkeep of a house, nor did they need the space.

Sure, it wasn't exactly the penthouse Jennie's agent had found them in L.A, but it was charming and cozy.

They liked sleeping in, lazing around and simply basking in the presence of their love.

Jisoo knew Jennie's body was awake since seven, but she couldn't bear to be up until at least nine. They'd been out late, reconnecting with their friends and family. And...each other, when they got home.

Jisoo smiled to herself as she recalled the night's activities.

Never in her wildest dreams would she have imagined that the star of her senior year, Jennie Rubyjane Kim, the arrogant, smooth player that she was, would ever love her.

Or that she would ever fall in love with Jennie, to be honest.

The novelty of it all was just...amusing. The quarterback, the socialite, the popular girl had fallen in love with her. The artist, the free soul.

They dated.

They moved in together.

On top of it all, they were best friends.

She couldn't have asked for a happy life.

It seemed, after all the grief of losing her father, the universe was rewarding Jisoo.

"Your mind is racing." Jennie mumbled, her nose in the dip of Jisoo's collarbone, where she was tucked into Jisoo's arms.

Jisoo grinned at Jennie's ability to read her so well. She responded by drawing Jennie in even tighter, squeezing her girlfriend.

Jennie smiled cheekily, kissing Jisoo's skin beneath her lips.

Jisoo was the only person that saw both sides of Jennie, truly. Jisoo saw the protective, strong, leader of a girl. Jisoo also saw the soft, beautiful, loving girl who just wanted to be held.

She nurtured both, and Jennie was ever grateful.

Jisoo wasn't sure how the feeling hadn't gone away yet, like everyone told her it would, but her love with Jennie was still intoxicating. It was still such a rush to the head, overwhelming, euphoric.

She didn't think that would ever go away.

"What are you thinking about?" Jennie queried, enjoying the way there wasn't a single centimeter of space between them.
