Note: The events on this shots does not extend to the rest of the AU. It's more of an excuse to explore the dynamics and get some angst with an established history between Jisoo and Jennie.

Prompt: Dara's latest announcement sparks drama in the Kim-Kim household, and Jisoo and Jennie have a falling out.

It was a normal dinner.

It was supposed to be a normal dinner.

Everything was going smoothly, as expected, as they'd done a hundred times before. Jisoo's shift at the gallery would end around five. Jennie would get back from practice around the same time.

They'd pick a recipe from a few choices, and Jisoo and Jennie would get busy in the kitchen, the recently engaged couple in a bit of a honeymoon-ish bliss period once more.

They'd bump hips, pause to make out when something was in the oven, and smile at each other from across the room, uncorking expensive bottles of wine.

Then, Dara would come from her shift at the hospital, gush about her day. She'd always listen to Jennie's stories, encouraging and supporting her whenever she could, like a mother.

Chaerin was very much present as well, but Dara had formed a bond with the two girls that CL couldn't hope to have. Not in the same sense, anyway.

Jisoo would get a turn to vent, to share her successes and failures of the week, and Dara would, too.

The girls would enjoy their wine, and recline on the couch for a movie, all together.

Jisoo didn't know when Dara's thursday night dinner traditions had begun, but they were her absolute favorite parts of the week.

Particularly because Jennie had games on fridays, which meant that she'd be alone, for a better part of the weekend, if she didn't accompany her.

It felt good to get quality time in with her mother and fiancee regularly, despite the chaos of their schedules.

Jisoo couldn't remember the last time she'd been so happy, so ecstatic with her family life.

Not since Seunghyun passed, anyway.

This night was no different.

Jisoo had gotten off her shift, and sped back to the penthouse, where Jennie was already at work in the kitchen.

Jisoo grinned when she saw her, hair tied back in a messy bun, bent over a dish. She was concentrating on seasoning something, her tongue poking out of the corner of her mouth.

"Hey baby." Jisoo opted on announcing her entrance instead of scaring her, well aware of Jennie's tendency to startle and frankly, injure herself.

For such a graceful athlete, she was a klutz.

"Hi." Jennie mirrored her grin, and Jisoo wrapped her arms around her from behind, kissing her neck from behind. "Mmm." Jennie hummed eagerly, leaning back into Jisoo's warmth.

"Missed you." Jisoo mumbled in her neck, breathing in Jennie's perfume and feeling her insides melt with affection. (And a lot of attraction).

"How was work?" Jennie asked, turning to give her a proper kiss.

"It was..." Jisoo rolled her eyes.

"That good?" Jennie chuckled, moving to grab a bottle of wine.

"I got through it by thinking of tonight." Jisoo admitted sheepishly. "Hot dinner, the three of us watching some dumb family comedy...maybe some cuddles, after..."
