Hola! En este capítulo, voy a recapitular algunas errores comunes.

*Most of them were mentioned throughout my book but I believe that when you are learning a language, it is very important to review and recap!*

1. In English, the adjectives come before the noun: e.g. kind person, cute dog. BUT in Spanish, the adjectives often come AFTER the noun.

(a) un estudiante inteligente (a smart student)

(b) el cuarto vacío (the empty room)

2. Double Negative (I am not sure if I wrote about this in my book but this is very important!)

In the English language, double negative is often considered as poor grammar, but in Spanish, it is correct grammar.

(a) No conoce a nadie. (He doesn't know anyone.)

(b) No quiero que uses plástico. (I don't want you to use plastic.)

3. LA imagen/EL problema/EL idioma/LA parte/LA discriminación/LA solución

4. When saying, something is in (language)...está EN (idioma)

Por ejemplo: El libro está en coreano. (The book is in Korean.)

5. When referring to a person or a group of people, you must use this form: Verbo + A + personas

Por ejemplo: aceptar A inmigrantes (to accept the immigrants) OR ir A Julia (go to Julia)

6. Este/Esta = this

Este libro (this book - masculine)

Esta hoja (this leaf - feminine)

7. estúpido/a(stupid) VS estupendo(wonderful)

e.g. eres estúpido (you are stupid)

eres estupendo (you are wonderful)

two very DIFFERENT meanings!!
