IT WAS AROUND HALLOWEEN TIME, almost a year after Will was saved from the Upside Down. Not much had changed in Maya's life, to make it simple.

After breaking up multiple times with Cole, the boy always found a way to get her back, by using many different arguments to make sure he would keep her in his pocket. It was never really love, though.

After last year's events, Maya and Steve stayed quite close but she never dared going to his house when she would fight with Cole, just like he offered in the past. Instead, they hung out at parties or when they would bump into each other and grab a coffee as Nancy often joined them, making Maya the third wheel.

And, even if she didn't spent as much time with Steve, her heart couldn't help but beat a little faster when he was around or when she would spot him staring at her when she would dance her heart out at a party.

She tried making the feelings disappear but whenever she hugged Cole, she couldn't help but picture Steve instead. She sighed and took a sharp turn to the right, pedaling as fast as possible, trying not to make her sports bag fall on top of her head. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Steve and Nancy waving at her and she smiled as a car almost ran her over, causing her to brake and scream.

"Maya, oh my God, are you okay ?!" Nancy yelled, her heart beating faster as her friend barely avoided the crash.

Steve and Nancy rushed out of the car and started running in her direction but stopped dead in their tracks as Maya threw her bike violently on the ground, as well as her bag and walked furiously towards the car, causing Steve to chuckle.

Whenever he thought Maya would've learned from her past mistakes and be calm, or at least rational, she would surprise him again. He remained on guard, though, as everything could turn to vinegar with Maya.

Maya knocked on the driver's door, barely seeing the red haired girl skating away, as she found herself hypnotized by the tall blonde boy who opened the door, a cigarette hanging between his lips. He wore total denim and black boots, looking sharp as Maya found herself staring at the specimen. She swallowed when the boy started looking at her up and down, as he raised an eyebrow and smirked, quite pleased by such a beautiful morning view.

Maya wore a red cropped shirt with very high-waisted white cargo pants with a leather belt and a pair of red converses and she had a cropped denim jacket. Suddenly self-conscious, she placed a side of the jacket over her shirt as she glared at the boy.

"How about you just look where you drive next time ?" Maya fumed angrily.

"Sorry about that, I guess I was enjoying the view a little too much," he answered as he lowered his gaze to her hips, biting his lip. "Yeah, yeah, it was definitely that."
