THE HOUSE WAS EMPTY, AGAIN. For a very long time, now, whenever Maya would come home, her father wouldn't be there. And, if at first, she didn't worry, now she wondered if he ever came home at all. She would see him, here and there, usually in town, sometimes at home for lunch. But she never saw him come home at night and he was never there for breakfast or dinner.

There was no coffee spilled on the table that Jim would have forgotten to clean before his shift, no underwear, no dishes, nothing. As if he didn't live here anymore.

Maya didn't feel upset, she was lost. She disinfected her hands and put gaze over them, eating some leftover fries from last night. Her mind kept fuzing all around, drifting from her fight with Steve to Cole, then Billy and finally her father. She didn't know where he was, what was going on, maybe he met someone and spent all his time with them... She just didn't know.

After hours of endless waiting, Maya couldn't keep it together. She knew one place where she might get some answers and she was going to get them. Even if she needed to yell in order to get the truth out. She needed to see her father, she needed him, or else she would explode.

She left the house and hoped on the bike, pedaling faster than ever.

. . .

She knocked on the door several times but, a few seconds later, nobody had opened. However, she could hear people talking and moving around inside. She knocked harder causing all the noise to stop inside.

"Joyce ! It's Maya ! Please, open, it's urgent !"

She heard some fumbling and the door cracked open, revealing an exhausted Joyce and a livid Will. She noticed Bob and Mike as their eyes were glued on the walls. That's when Maya saw all the drawings pinned over the entire house as her face fell.

She walked in, barely paying attention to anyone and she scanned the room, trying to understand what it all meant. Her eyes narrowed as she somehow recognized a series of five drawings taped all together. She pointed a finger as Joyce rushed next to her.

"W-What.. Do you know what it is ?" Joyce asked with hope tainted.

"Yes, it's the mountain I always go to. East from the forest's main entrance."

"See! I told you it's a map of Hawkins!" Bob joined in with a smile.

Maya turned around to look over at Will, she didn't recognize the little boy anymore, as if he was long gone. "You drew all this ?!"

He simply nodded and Maya got back to Joyce, "I-I.. I don't know if it's connected but... have you seen my dad recently ?"

"I did.. but I don't know where he is right now..."
