of course every story has to have a point of view!! when i write my fanfics, i tell the story through only one character's point of view. i personally think switching the pov throughout the story will confuse readers, especially if it changes in the same chapter.

if your story is told in first person, i recommend choosing one of your characters and tell the entire story from their pov only. it's fine if you want to switch the pov every now and then; just don't change it constantly or it gets annoying.

EXAMPLE NO. 1

!!!! chapter one !!!!

Cory's POV
I saw Topanga sitting at a booth by herself. I felt so bad because a nice girl like her shouldn't be sitting alone like that.

Topanga's POV
As I was sitting at the table alone, I watched the people around me having  fun with their friends. I just sat there wishing I could have had a great time like they were.

Gibby's POV
I opened the doors to Chubbie's and walked inside.

"GIBBEEEEHHHHH!!!" I yelled.

and as i've already stated, do not change the pov without warning

and as i've already stated, do not change the pov without warning. that will definitely put off readers and no one will have a clue what's happening.

                       EXAMPLE NO. 2

I saw Cory standing by himself across the hallway. I've had a crush on him for so long and I decided now was the time to tell him.

I felt someone tapping on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Y/N standing there.

"Hey," I said, smiling at her.

"Cory.. I have to tell you something," she said, looking at the ground.

"What is it?" Cory asked.

TIPS1) if you want your story to be told in more than one point of view, i recommend changing it in a different chapter

                                    TIPS
1) if you want your story to be told in more than one point of view, i recommend changing it in a different chapter. in my opinion, changing the pov in the same chapter is just too confusing. dumbasses like me would get lost and won't understand what's going on.

2) when you change the pov, make sure you put something like "Cory's POV" before you even begin writing the chapter. you could also either capitalize, bold, or italicize the text just so readers can easily see it.

example:

CORY'S POV
*start writing your story here*

there's absolutely nothing wrong with telling your story through different povs!! i just believe that one pov would make things much easier and less confusing
