I woke up the next morning to monse getting up for school, she cooked me breakfast before heading out

i promised that i stay in her house until her friend, jamal comes to pick me up to take me over to his house

and I did it's just that Jamal ask me a lot of questions, question that made me uncomfortable I could tell he just wanted to get to know me but I don't like answering too many questions

Jamal just left out to go to work at his dad's barbecue place, he told me that my cover story is I'm a maid that he hired to clean his room just in case he's mom sees me

I told him I will stay in his room and out of his stuff until cesar comes and get me but if I'm honest I don't wanna sit in a random's guy bedroom for who knows how long

I stand up and walk towards the door and I was expected to see his mom or his dad, I don't see anyone

I peek my head out and looked both ways, seeing no one I slowly stepped out, and cautiously walked out into the living room

It was really quiet my guess is that nobody was home, but I decided to be quiet just in case

I slowly unlocked the door, my attempt to open the big door first startled me because of its squeaking

I took in a deep breath before opening it all the way and the screen door, as I walk out I closed the door behind me

I turn around to look at the neighborhood behind me letting the screen close by itself

I set down the porch stairs on the hard cement sidewalk making me winced because the cuts underneath my bandage are still fresh

I began to walk, first it was just to the corner, then it around the corner and down the street now it's a walk I guess I needed

I have no idea where I'm at or where I'm going the street wasn't completely empty strangers walked passed me giving me glares other didn't even knowledges me

As I walking I glass break from the distance in front me causing me to freeze in place

More glass shattering followed by yelling and cursing, the groans made me think someone was being hurt

I'm in my own world, stuck. If I kept walking I'm dead but if I stay I'm dead

My hands began to sweat as my feet refuse to move

All of sudden I feel a yank on my arm making me go around the corner that was next to me

I look down to see one do Ceaser's friend, Ruby

"que demonios!" he says

He walks to look around the corner, he looks back at me "estas loco?" he asked

"i don't understand spanish" I say

"I asked if you were crazy?, you were suppose to stay at jamal's! what if spooky or one his guys saw you?" he lectured me

"yeah I know I couldn't just sit in his room and do nothing, it's almost suffocating. I mean a week ago I was peacefully living behind a dumpster now I'm all caught in this mess" I say

He sighs "come on" he says turning to away

"Where are we going?" I asked not moving

He turns around to look at her "mi casa" he says

I give him a look more a deadpanned look he sighs once again

"my house" he says

We started walking side by side "I gotta extra bed in my room, I'm sure my parents won't mind if you stay couple days just until it's safe for you leave, we'll get you food maybe a shower, definitely some shoes and some new clothes" he says as we walked

"Thanks Ruby" I smiled

"no hay problemo"
