I woke up before Draco, his hair was dishevelled and yet still perfectly neat. He woke up a little while later.

"You have something in your hair" I lied as I ran my hand through his platinum locks.

"You just wanted to stroke my hair" he said in a  deep, croaky, morning voice.

I laughed quietly.

"Shush, it's not morning yet" he mumbled.

"Yes, it is" I replied cheekily.

"Ugh" Draco sighed.

I sat for a moment awkwardly not knowing what to say as Draco tried to go back to sleep. I scratched the back of my neck before asking:

"Do you wanna take a shower together?"

"Is that even a question?" He said softly.

He opened his eyes and slowly sat up.

We walked out of the dorm trying to avoid the creaky floorboards as Ron was still sleeping.

After making it to the bathroom without disturbing anyone we jumped into the furthest shower, my favourite.

Draco was still groggy and was so tired I could tell he was just going through the motions.

"Do you feel ok?" I asked squeezing shampoo onto my hand and rubbing into my hair.

"Yeah I just struggled to get to sleep last night, and when I did I'd just wake up again a few hours later" he said squeezing shampoo directly onto his head.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that" I said not really knowing what to say.

"I'll be fine after some coffee" he murmured.

I got out of the shower before him as he still had to condition and do his skincare routine. I stood at the sink brushing my teeth.

Draco came out moments later and we went back to my dorm to get dressed. I thoroughly enjoyed how tight Draco had his uniform. He made sure it hugged his toned body.

We walked down to the common room. Someone had suspended blueish purple crystals in the air with a levitation charm. They were dotted all around the room. I was speechless, it was so strange and yet subtlety beautiful. Like stars in the sky as the sunlight hit them at different angles.

The perpetrators were revealed when I walked over to the sofas to find Luna and Ginny asleep cuddling up to one another.

"Aww that's cute" Draco breathed.

"Yeah" I uttered taken aback slightly by the sheer romance.

We had a little time before breakfast so we found a bench to sit on in some random corridor. We both sat cross-legged facing each other. Draco lent forward and rested his head on my chest. He really was tired. I stoked his hair and back gently in little circles. I felt him breathing, deep yet quiet breaths, uniform like a marching band. One after the other and another.

"I could stay like this forever" he mumbled into my chest.

"Forever?" I asked in a low tone.

"Forever" he confirmed.

Time ticked on and people began to fill the corridor walking to breakfast. Draco took an extra deep breath and sat up.

"Let's go" he said in his sleepy tone.

We sat down in our usual place, Dean and Seamus joined us a little while later. I assumed Ron and Hermione were spending time together as to them it felt even more precious than before.

Blaise came speed walking up to us.

"Here's Anguis Draco" he said placing the snake in Draco's open hand.

"Thanks for looking after him" Draco said sincerely. Blaise jogged back to his own table. Anguis slithered up Draco's sleeve. The owls came and dropped their post. But Draco's attention was drawn to a large eagle owl swooping in.

It dropped a letter onto Draco's lap with an expensive-looking silver wax seal. Immediately Draco's demeanour changed. He was wide awake. He tossed the letter onto the table.

"I'll open it later" he said in a gruff voice swallowing his tears.

I could feel the blood rush to my ears and my heart beat faster. Fear flooded my head and suffocated my brain. Seamus carried on talking about nonsense and Dean listened like he was saying something life-changing. I couldn't hear any of it, all I could focus on was Draco.

I noticed that he stopped eating completely, he just stared at the food he had put on his plate previously. I could see him begin to subconsciously hold his left wrist with his right hand. He was completely spaced out and wrapped up in his own thoughts I could see it across his face.

It was completely still, lost of all expression, grey and emotionless, like clay.

It felt like I held my breath until breakfast was over. Draco wandered off leaving the letter on the table. I grabbed it before running after him.

"Draco? Draco!" I shouted down the isolated, unused corridor. We had snuck away to a less populated place and it was now just us standing in this long stone walkway.

"Open it" he hissed.

I did as I was told.

"Read it" he said leaning his head against the wall struggling not to cry.

"Dear Draco,
I noticed that you have used some money from your bank account that your father and I reopened for you. I have spoken with your father and he and I agree that if you server all ties with Mr Potter and agree to marry a suitable girl, it is not unreasonable for us to keep your bank account open and allow you to return home in the holidays.

We will hope to hear confirmation of this by the end of this week

From your loving mother and father"

I read the letter aloud, by the time I had finished Draco was sobbing silently curled up into a ball.

"What a fucking bitch!" he screamed hitting the stone floor with his fist.

I got onto my knees and wrapped my arms around him. He cried violently into my shoulder.

"I will fix this Draco, we will find a way. I promise" I whispered into his ear.
