Wow, okay. Last chapter. That's wild. 147 chapters in this book- over 1,000 words each. You do that math. I can't believe that it's done and that I'm sharing this with you all now. This book wasn't supposed to exist. Captivated was supposed to be the only book, but now, it's become a series. All because of your love and support on these books. Thank you all for that.
With that being said, it brings me great pleasure to announce that my next book, and the third (and final) book in this series, will be up on Wednesday, September 18. It's called Lovers. I'm so excited about this book. I already have over 20 chapters written, and I'm pushing myself and working so hard on it. I think you'll all enjoy it a lot.
So, I'll see you on Wednesday in this book for one final time, to let you all know when I publish. Until then, without further ado, I give you, the final chapter of Together. Enjoy/comment/vote. I love you all so much.

Patrick

"Lovie," I whisper, lightly shaking my wife awake. "Lovie, wake up."

It's quite early in the morning, but it's our anniversary, and I've got lots of fun stuff planned, so I want to get going as soon as possible.

"Patrick..." she murmurs, slowly forcing her eyes open. "What time is it?"

"Time for some surprises. It's our anniversary, hon. You don't really think that I'd let today go by without planning something special, do you?"

A smile grows on her face.

"So, get out of bed, and let's get going. I've been up for a while, and I've already packed your bag, so just get dressed and we should be on our way."

"What?" she asks. "Patrick, where are we going?"

"That's a surprise."

"But, what sort of bag did you pack?"

"We won't be leaving London."

"Okay..." she replies, uncertainly, as she climbs out of bed. I catch her in my arms before she can mover very far, then press a kiss onto her lips.

"Happy one year, honey. You're the best thing that ever happened to me."

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me, too," she replies. "I love you."

"I love you, too." At that, I let her go and get dressed.

"How should I look?"

"Semi-nice. Like, something that you could go to the theatre in."

"Can I wear nice jeans?"

"I don't see why not," I tell her. "Just, with a nicer top, and probably not trainers."

"Done," she replies, pulling out her favourite pair of blue jeans and slipping them on, paired with a grey jumper and light pink scarf. She adds on her light brown ankle boots and a light pink pair of earrings to match her scarf.

"Look at you, so gorgeous," I tell her, wrapping my arm around her waist and pulling her into me. Her long hair is pulled back in a half up-half down style, so it's flowing down her back. I pick up the ends of a few strands and twirl them around my fingers. "Are you ready?"

"Yep," she replies.

"Great. Let's get going, then."

By the door, our two suitcases are waiting for us.

"Patrick," she whines, "you said that we weren't leaving London."

"I did say that," I nod. "If you simply must know, I've gotten us a hotel room for a few nights. I felt bad that we had discussed taking a holiday, then I didn't make anything happen, so I figured that we could at least switch things up around here a bit. It'll be romantic... well, sort of. Our room has a double bed, so it will be a bit cramped, but my only options were that, or two twin beds."
