Chapter 65

(Brennen)

I walk into Chipotle and see Sam sitting at a table with Colby's phone and a drink that's not his. I go over to him

"What'd you say?"

"I-I...I told him about you and Kat"

(Brennen)

My eyes widen

"That was two years ago. Why-"

I grab Colby's phone

"Where is he?"

"It was a couple of months ago, he asked, and in the bathroom"

(Brennen)

"A couple of months ago and 2 years ago. Both times when Colby and I were still dating"

I say and start walking to the bathroom.

I bite my lip and decide to walk around outside.

I hear a knock on the bathroom stall and Brennen's voice.

(Brennen)

"Colby?"

I wipe the tears away from eyes

"Y-Yeah?"

(Brennen)

"Can we talk?"

I stand up and unlock the stall. I see him and my eyes start watering again so I put my head on his chest.

(Brennen)

"I'm so sorry."

"You-you cheated"

(Brennen)

"I'm sorry"

I take my head off his chest and start walking out of the bathroom.

(Brennen)

"Colby-"

He grabs my wrist and I take his hand in mine. I walk outside holding his hand and go to his car. I didn't have the keys anymore so I look over at Brennen

"Open it"

(Brennen)

I get my keys out and open the door, confused.

"Get in"

I say and get in the passenger's seat and he gets in the driver's seat.

(Brennen)

"W-where am I going?"

"You wanted to talk. So talk"

(Brennen)

"Well, I uh...I'm just really sorry."

"But, why? Why did you do it?"

(Brennen)

I look down.

"I uh-I don't know"

"Am I not good enough for you? Could I not give you what you want?"

I say raising my voice.

(Brennen)

"No! You were perfect!"

"Then why the hell did you do it!?!"

(Brennen)

"I don't know"

"Fuck you"

I say and grab my phone from the cupholder. I open the door to get out.

(Brennen)

I rest my head on the steering wheel and sigh.
