In many ways, Los Angeles, California, looks like any affluent suburb. It's a city full of dreamers and opportunities waiting to be gain at the next corner. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The traffic in Downtown makes people full of anger, starting arguments along the lanes. It's summer, the only thing these people need are an ice cold beer.

Around 8am, Sofia woke up as she heard her alarm

Around 8am, Sofia woke up as she heard her alarm. She didn't want to be late for her special day. She was looking forward to it as soon as her family moved to L.A. following her brother's career.

— sofia's pov —

My alarm went off. The day had finally arrive. I was expecting this day since Cody got drafted. I get off of my bed and hit the shower, and quickly changed into something comfortable. Before I headed down the kitchen I tied my shoe laces and grabbed my backpack. I go down the kitchen to meet Cody and my parents eating eggs Benedict.

"Good morning to my beautiful brother that I love so much" I approach Cody for a hug

"You need a ride, don't you" Cody answered with a sass in which he completely ignored my hug

"Aren't you glad that you know sister so well? I ask him as I flutter my eyes.

"No, I'm not glad you still can't drive. You had three months to pick up the drivers manual" He argued

"Hey! I had other things to do, you know, like clean the house, feed the dogs and...prepare myself for today" I answer sarcastically.

"But hey I promise you I'll practice this month and you know what, I'll even pass the written test." I say as I point my index finger to Cody sounding sure of myself, which I was.

"So, honey are you ready today" Mom asked as she stood up and headed to the sink to wash her plate

"Mentally, yes, physical, not sure, because I'm not there yet...because someone by the name of Cody doesn't want to give me a ride" I look directly look into Cody's eyes.

Mom looked over to Cody and gave him the mom look

"Hey! I never said I wasn't going to take her" Cody exclaims to mom as he wants to free himself out of this situation

"Ok let's go" I yell as I'm excited. I didn't want to waste my time at home where I could be at the only place that could only matter right now

"Sofia, aren't you going to eat?! You can't think on a empty stomach" Dad wonders as he lifts up his eyes from the newspaper to me

"I'm good dad. I'm sure they have breakfast over there. I'll be sure to eat something along the way. Don't worry" I respond with making sure they don't worry about me the whole day

"You got your things ready?" Cody asked as placed his glass of water on the sink

"Yeah let's go" I answered as I put on my backpack. Cody was out the door when I was stopped.

"Oh wait, Sofia..what time are you off today" Mom asked before I left the threshold.

"I'd say about twelve,why? I asked curiously

"Well I'm not sure if Cody told you yet but he's going to be making his MLB debut at Dodger Stadium at four" She says with an excitement she couldn't hold.

I immediately turn my body and run to Cody at the car. I try to give him the biggest hug possible. He did it, after all that hard work, he did it. I was immensely so proud of him.
