I looked up at the stars.

There's a saying that whenever you pass your soulmate, the night you meet them, a shooting star passes by.

Now I've never seen a shooting star in my life at all, so I just thought it would've been a myth.

I just shrugged it off and locked the door to go to the 24 hour shop to buy some chocolates since I cannot sleep.

I bought got the chocolate and made my way to the cashier who was a new worker.

"New worker?" I asked and he nodded. He seemed tired but still tried to do his job.

Then I heard the bell ring and looked to the door, revealing the night sky and a shooting star passed by.

The cashier didn't notice because he was too busy getting his change.

"Hey, do you beleive that you'd see a shooting star on the night you pass your soulmate?"

He looked up at me and stared blankly. "Well I haven't thought about that but I don't believe it."

"Why not?" I asked out of curiosity.

"I just believe love will come when you really need it."

I sighed and came to realization at what kind of fantasy I believed in.

"Your right." I got my chocolate after he handed me the change and he stopped me before I left the store.

"But do you believe in it?" He asks and I shrug my shoulders.

"I used to." I opened the door only to see the shooting star again.

"Did you see that?" I asked him.

He nodded and looked astonished.

"I've never seen a shooting star in my life before."

"Me neither." I smiled, just then more incoming shooting stars came and I was in shock.

A passerby saw our reactions and looked up to the sky in a judgemental manner. "There's nothing there."

"What?"

"There's nothing there, just a plain dark sky." She repeated and I gulped. I looked back at the cashier and looked at his name tag, Seunghyub.

"Wait so you can see the shooting stars too?"

He nodded and tilted his head. "Why? Cause' of that myth that if you pass by your soulmate you'll see a shooting star?"

I looked down knowing he was judging me, but why could only him and I see it?

Without a word I left the store.

It was those days when I couldn't sleep at all. So I decided to go to the 24/7 store and get me some chocolates once again.

I got five since they were on sale and headed my way to the cashier.

There he was, but looked even tired than before, it was the same dude from a few days ago.

I didn't say a word and got my wallet out.

Just then, the bell rang indicating someone entered and there was a shooting star.

My heart beat fast, this is not true, I'm probably just seeing things since it's 2AM and I haven't for enough sleep.

Seunghyub noticed also and slowly looked at me who was still staring at the door.

"That'll be $5.75 please." He said, still in awe.

I gave him a ten dollar bill and got my change back but left without saying anything once again.

I decided to head to the playground in my neighbourhood since I knew I couldn't sleep anyways.

"Hi." I heard after a while of sitting on the swings. I looked up to see Seunghyub but he was in his own clothes.

"Hi." I responded quietly and he sat on the swing beside mine.

I looked down but my attention moved to the sky when the sky shined brightly because of the shooting stars.

"Don't you think it's weird?" He stared at the sky and measured the stars with his hand.

"Weird? What?"

"That complete strangers can be soulmates?"

I nodded and sighed. "It's not like we have a choice, destiny chooses for us."

"But what if love really does come when you need it?"

I scrunched up my face and my eyes moved to his attractive face.

"What?" He asks and chuckles. Damn even when he chuckles he really looks handsome.

"Is there a special someone?" I ask and he looked back up at the sky.

"If I said there was, what would you think?"

I looked up at the sky as well and fiddled with my fingers. "Then I'm happy for you."

"You know when you said that shooting stars only come when you pass by your soulmate?"

"Yeah?" I kicked the sand under my feet.

"What if you're my soulmate?" He asks and I giggle.

"It's not like shooting stars can decide who our soulmates are."

"Days you had this belief, and now you're against it." He laughed and I just let out a small smile.

"Because I'm not good enough."

"Remember when I said love will come when you really need it? I'm right here!"

"How many people have you picked up?" I joked and he laughed as well.

"Only you." He was being honest and I blushed.

"You don't even know my name, Seunghyub."

"Then what's your name?"

"Y/N."

"Nice name Y/N. My name is Seunghyub. Shall we start over?"

I nodded and held out my hand, he took it and shook my hand.

But held it for a while and we were like that for a few minutes until I slept and leaned on the chains holding the swing.

He jumped up and made me walk sleepily to the bench.

"I'm glad you're my soulmate." He whispered as I laid my head deeper into his shoulder.
