"I want to give you this." My grandfather said and placed a necklace in the palm of my hands. I looked up at him and he smiled back at me.

"Your grandmother used to wear this all the time, it keeps you from any accidents or bad luck." He smiled and gave the necklace one last touch before bringing his hand back.

I smiled and asked my grandfather to put it on for me for safe keeping so I won't lose it.

We stayed together, talking and making jokes before I had to go home and do my homework.

I opened my shared dorm door and stumbled across trying to find the light.

There he was, my roommate with his eyes glued to the book as always with only one light source on, his beloved desk lamp.

"Hey, I got some Mcdonald's on the way here, do you want some?"

He gave a small nod, still not removing his eyes from the book.

Ever since I moved into our shared apartment two months ago he's been giving me quiet answers and he doesn't go out partying as much as I do. And I only go once a five months.

I placed the Big Mac and french fries next to him and he muttered a small thank you. I took a peek at his book and seems like he was reading for his english exam tomorrow.

He's always occupied so I would barely see him but he always make time for his friends.

I did develop some kind of feeling towards him but shrugged it off since I wasn't so sure.

Suddenly something popped up in my head, tomorrow I was hanging out with friends and they said I could bring a friend if I wanted to but I doubted Hoeseung would come because of how introverted he seemed.

"I was um wondering if you wanted to come with me tomorrow to meet some friends after your test?" I asked.

He looked up from his book and stretched to look at me. "Thanks for the offer but you know I don't go out a lot."

"Oh please." I clasped my hands together and he gave in. I pumped my fists and checked my necklace to see it glowing a bit.

I jumped from rock to rock near the pond, waiting for Hoeseung to arrive. It's been almost fifteen minutes but he still hasn't arrived.

I wore my grandmother's necklace because it looked presentable.

I was about to step on the next rock when I lost balanced and tumbled down, but felt strong arms around me. I looked up to see Hoeseung and we were in quite an odd position so I stood up and brushed my pants.

"Uh I- Sorry I wasn't watching my step." While looking down I checked my necklace and it was glowing again.

We walked side by side to my friends and everyone was shocked to see Hoeseung in a very casual attire, since they're used to seeing him in the school uniform.

"Hey guys." I greeted and they greeted back in a cheerful mood.

We all gathered around and chatted but Hoeseung isolated himself in his own personal box which made me feel sad.

"Hey Hoeseung, do you want a drink?" I asked and he silently shook his head. Just then one of my friends accidentally passed by me, making me spill the drink I was holding in my hands to my chest.
