IT DIDN'T take many context clues to figure out that Scarlett's parents didn't get along.

It was rare that the two of them spoke. So, when Scar came busting into Mother Gothel's home it obviously surprised her.

"She knows." Gothel said.

"She was here?" He asked.

"Of course she was here." Scarlett said, "You felt it didn't you?"

Scar scoffed. Of course he felt her presence. He helped create it.

"You knew when VK day was." Gothel said, "You knew everyone knew she was coming back."

"Why did she come here?"

"Scar, she's her own person. We don't have control over her anymore. Not like we had any over her anyway." Gothel said, "The magic isn't working anymore. Not in the way you want it."

Scar rubbed his hands over his face, "She doesn't need to be there."

"Where?"

"Auradon! Trust me Scarlett will not last."

"She's not a child, Scar. Things changed, and even if she came to see you what would you have done to her? Give her another scar?"

Scar faintly laughed and held a book up.

"You were going to read to her?"

"It's a spellbook."

"That wouldn't work here and you know that." Gothel said, "We spelled her before she left and it didn't do a thing."

"You don't know her then."

And he wouldn't be wrong. He didn't care what people said. He was the true evil on the Isle. Maleficent was absolutely nothing compared to Scar.

"She's a lot stronger than what she even knows, but would you know that?" Scar questioned, "She doesn't even know how strong she is. Maleficent put a kid to sleep. She has nothing on me. Nothing on her."

"Gotta do what you've gotta do."

"She put a kid to sleep. I've done worse."

"The point, Scar."

Scar walked towards Gothel, showing her the book, "She came here and you and I both know that she was always too good to be here, but this, this can make her, herself."

"Herself?"

"What she was after they left. After that De Vil boy, after Mal, all of them. You should've seen her."

"Is Uma any different?"

"No, no she's not. Uma helped her change for the better and if those other VK's never came back she would've been like me." Scar smiled, "Powerful."

"She had no friends, Scar, she changed for them, not for herself." Gothel said, "The spell we used at first isn't working and will continue to grow weak."

"Either way-" Scar's eyes flashed green, "She's still on the isle."

"You think you can control her... go ahead. Do something."

Scar looked down at and sent her a smile, "Fine."

Scar flipped through the spellbook and read from it, his eyes glowing a darker shade of green than before.

But it suddenly stopped.

"She's stronger without you, she's stronger without the both of us. So for you to think you can take over her. You're wrong."

He was frustrated with everything at this point. He was frustrated with Scarlett, frustrated with Gothel, frustrated with everything.

Scarlett could've been something great, she could've been him. The fact that she wasn't is what made him angry towards her.

"Those friends of her's are good for her and towards her. The fact that we can't control her anymore is what's bothering you. Face the facts. She might just be more powerful than what you and everyone else thinks." Gothel said, "So, suck it up and move on. Scarlett isn't coming back for you or for me."
