Shelly's POV

Aniya walks in the office thinking she's all that but she ain't shit compared to me I'm so tired of having to compete with Dwayne's little girls like I been there for him since day one when he was 16 and got caught with a key in his car I got him off of that case nobody else but me

Me:"hey Aniya hows you and Dwayne"

Aniya:"we good"

Me:"oh that's nice look I know we got off to a bad start but I want to put that behind us it's not professional so I was thinking maybe you and me can go for lunch"

Aniya laughing:"I rather not the only reason you want to talk to me now is so you can be in me and Dwayne's business but like I said were good and I don't fuck with you"

She struts off whatever I guess that's just how it has to be huh?

Aniya's POV

Tonight's the night I meet Dwayne's parents and he meets mine.. I'm not nervous because I'm grown I can do what I want we establish that when they kicked me out the house the only reason I'm introducing them to him is because they have apologized and I'm tryna move on from that this is just the best way

Couple hours later

Mrs.James:"Des and lex I missed yall so much I never see yall anymore"

They both jump up on her how cute I notice that when Dwayne's dad walks in the both tense up.. he told me they ain't get along but he didn't really go fully into detail. finally when my mom nd dad show up I jump in my daddy's arm I'm sucha daddy's girl. we all sit down its awkward I send the kids to the theater to eat and watch a movie cuz obviously everybody got something to say

Mrs.james:"so Aniya your ok with Destiny calling you mom and Marquin calling him dad"

Me:"yea"

Mom:"don't you think that's weird because marquis is dead I feel like it's kinda disrespectful"

Mrs.james:"and I think the same about Ashlee it's disrespectful how would you feel if the tables were turned"

Mom:"and what about him drug dealing I thought you ain't want that in yo life no more"

Me:"what I said is I never wanted to be in that situation where me and Quin would be left broke and all alone and that won't happen.."

Mom:"it's just that I don't want you to get hurt again after marquis died you wasn't the same person anymore and I just don't want us to have to go threw that again"

Me:"us? there wasn't no us it was me and Quin who went threw it you didn't help me I did all by myself"

Mom:"but-"

Daddy:"no buts baby girl are you happy"

I nod my head

Daddy:"well then we're happy for you too"

Me:"thanks daddy"

Mrs.James:"he's right y'all"

Dwayne's POV

I'm glad that shit is over I mean I really ain't care what they had to say ima grown ass man but now I got deal with some more shit I guess Andrea been talking shit about Aniya... damn why am I just now noticing all they names start with A's anyway now Aniya tripping over that

Aniya:"call her over here"

Me:"no I'm not finna do that"

Aniya:"no obviously the bitch want to fight me I'll fight her ass"

Me:"how old are you"

Aniya:"I don't fucking care if I was 85 bitches who talk shit could get handled quickly"

Me:"why you even want to fight her Im with you ain't i what you fighting over"

Aniya:"that's beside the point the point is she's being a disrespectful messy bitch if she had something to say about me she coulda easily walked up to the door and told me but instead she wants her six year old daughter to relay the messages"

Me:"I'll talk to her"

Aniya:"tonight"

Me:"um no pr-"

Aniya:"that wasn't a question more like a demand"

I start laughing but her face is so serious

Me:"alright but y'all ain't in high school the kids is here either you gunna act like a grown woman or ima just tell her to leave"

30minutes later

Andrea walks through the door I can tell she ain't her normal self honestly it looks like she finna cry

Aniya:"so what's the problem"

Andrea:"what"

Aniya:"having Alexus relay messages the subliminal tweets and I ain't done shit to you so what is it you need to move on obviously he has"

Andrea crying:"bitch you don't know me you don't want I've been through with him"

Aniya laughing:"are you seriously fucking crying right now I can't"

Me:"Aniya chill out"

Aniya:"no Dwayne I'm not chilling out... do you have feelings for her either you tell her what it is or I'll pack up my stuff and yall can get back together since its so many feelings there"

Me:"you know how I feel"

Aniya:"you want me or her you got thirty seconds to answer"

Me:"Aniya what did I say you see her sitting here crying and you just gunna keep going after her"

Aniya:"she needs too know or maybe I'm wrong do you want to be with her that's all you have to say I'll leave"

I stare between the both of them I know I want to be with Aniya but Andrea is my baby moms and I don't want to see her hurting either. Aniya stands up

Aniya:"congratulations you got him"

I grab her arm

Me:"Andrea I'm sorry but I've moved on"

Andrea gets up and runs out the door this is so stupid. Aniya wraps her arms around my waist and tries kiss me but I turn my face

Me:"wtf was that"

Aniya:"she had to know baby"

Me:"but you ain't have to act like that"

Aniya:"alright I'm sorry I love yo ass and when I see your ex crying over you and you looking sad for her it scares me that I might lose you"

Me:"yea alright I gotta go handle some business"

Aniya:"whatever have fun cheating!"
