Puppeteer (Bucky X Reader)

Part 5

It had been a month since you and Moose where taken out of cryo by the Avengers. Many doctors had done tests on you to make sure you where healthy and staying that way. However, lab tests where also done on you to understand your powers, how to control them, and how useful they actually are. The room you where staying in started to become a bit more homey due to a dog bed at the end of your bed. The only clothes you wore where white tank tops and baggy black sweatpants. Luckily, the hairdresser did come in and cut your hair to your desired length, which felt so much better. Basically everyday was the same until a certain one.

The boys where all sitting in the conference room, mainly making fun of each other but a bit of work was being done. That was until Natasha and Wanda walked in and took their seats. "So what are we going to do with Y/n?" Bruce asked the group. There was a bunch of shrugs and mumbles in response. "I think she should join the team." Tony said after a few minutes getting up then proceeding to shrug his shoulders. He earned a few confused looks, shocked looks, and some pleased looks. "How do we know she isn't still with Hydra and planning on killing us all?" Rhodey asked concerned and trying to give Tony some common sense. "She probably would have done it by now, she has the abilities to." Wanda pointed out. "They could have had her gain our trust first." Bruce suggested. "No, she was trained to take targets down once she has the chance, and she's had that chance." Bucky said looking at everyone. Tony put a shit eating grin on. "I think another girl would be fun. Kinda full of testosterone in here." Natasha said with a shrug. You two had kind of bonded over the month since she was the one the guys sent in when you had a female problem. They continued to talk it out, everyone having something to say. After an hour a decision was made and some conditions where also placed.

You where sitting on your bed petting Moose when Killer Queen came on the radio you asked for. You had taken a liking to the band and rock music in general. Moose licked your nose as you where petting his head. Smiling you kissed his nose and gave him a tight hug before patting his chest twice. With the hint he got up and jumped off the bed to stretch with a yawn. Smiling you sighed and listened to the lyrics closely with your eyes closed. You hadn't noticed that Natasha had came in but Moose sure did. He barked once then watched her movements closely. Sitting up alert and ready to take your enemy you looked straight to Natasha. "Oh, Hello." You said and calmed a bit. "Hey, so I have some news." She said with a smile which made you suspicious. "Oh?" You asked attempting to humor her. "We want you to join the Avengers, but there's conditions." She said and crossed her arms. "Why would you want me to join you guys?" You asked and turned the volume of the radio down by simply thinking about it. "We think you would be useful, and honestly killing you would be a waist." She joked and smiled ever so slightly. "But I was in Hydra... Hydra royalty at that." You pointed out to her. "But you aren't anymore and you don't seem to have the intentions on going on a rampage here." She said looking at your head that was pointed to the floor. After thinking for about 10 minutes you start to fumble with your hands. Moose put his head in your hands to stop you. You looked at him then to Natasha. "What are the conditions?" You asked looking her right in the eyes. "We need to put a limit on your powers for now just incase. You can't go on any missions for a long while. You can only leave the compound with another member or constant communication with Friday. You will still be doing training incase you are needed. Finally, you have to bunk with Barnes for now." Natasha listed off and you nodded to everything she said but not the last part. Giving her a confused look she caught the hint. "Bucky, his last name is Barnes. We would have you stay with me or Wanda but we know you are more comfortable with Barnes." She said and you nodded. "I'm in." You said and gave her a smirk which she returned. "The doctors will be in here any moment, good luck." She said then left. You watched her and left out a deep exhale. All you wanted to do was cry. You knew no one at the HYDRA bases cared about you but it still hurt, plus all these other bottled emotions needed to come out. Hopefully the bathroom is sound proof.

Doctors and scientists came in and hooked you up to many machines. You knew one was a heart monitor but that was it. A doctor came up to you and placed two bracelets around your wrists. They looked like dainty silver bracelets with a barely noticeable y/f/c glow. Looking at the doctor confused he explained. "These bracelets are indestructible and will contain your powers. Since we didn't add to your abilities we can't take them away like what has been done to you in the past. You where born with the abilities and taking them all away would kill you." He explained then suddenly you fainted. Last thing you heard where voices and the heart monitor beeping out of control. The last thing you saw however confused you, it was a panicked Bucky and some other guy.

Coldness was all you felt. Slowly opening your eyes and lifting yourself up, you looked around to see yourself in a room. Suddenly two figures ran into the room. It was Bucky and Moose. They where chasing each other, well Bucky was chasing Moose. Suddenly a weight smacked you in the chest and head. Your best boy was so excited you where awake and ok. Laying on you he licked your face then looked to Bucky. "Sorry, I tried to stop him." He attempted to explain. "It's ok Bucky, this is how I usually wake up." You said giggling as you where licked. "How are you feeling?" He asked and sat on the end of his bed. "I feel good, don't worry." You said and patted Moose so he would get up. As he did you sat up. "what happened?" You asked and looked down at the bracelets. "Well, when they put the bracelets your body needed to get used to the sudden loss of power. I guess it made your heart stop." Bucky explained the best he could. Honestly, he didn't understand what happened he just knew you where dead for a few seconds and he felt sick to his stomach about it. "Who was the other guy by you when I went out?" You asked looking at Bucky. "That was Barton, Clint." Bucky stated then thought for a moment. "Want to go on a cycle ride? I just thought you would want to get out of a building." He offered. "You never need to ask me that question." You said jumping up then pausing. "I need different pants." You said then looked at him. "I'll ask Natasha if she has a spare pare." He said and left. You looked around the room for your boots and didn't pay attention to Bucky's things. Once you got them and sat down Bucky came in with black jeans. "Here, these where the only ones she had in your size." He said handing them to you. "Thanks." You said with a smile and going into the bathroom with your things. Turns out the jeans where black high waited skinny jeans and fitted every part of you perfectly. You buckled up your boots and walked out. Bucky looked at you in awe before he knew what he was doing. "Take a picture it will last longer Barnes." You teases which snapped him out of it. "Oh, yeah, sorry, yeah let's go." He said and walked out the door. He had on jeans, boots, maroon shirt, and a black jacket on. You walked out of the room and Bucky just watched you. When you where 15 you developed walk that made your hips swing, it made seducing targets easier when needed but it became your normal walk style. That swing would be a problem, Bucky knew it. He decided to ignore anything from your chin down as you both walked to the garage.

The sun was just beginning to set. Grabbing helmets you two walked over to a Harley Davidson Street 750, it was Bucky's. "Woah." You said in amazement waking around the bike then putting your helmet on. Bucky was already on the bike with a helmet once you finished eyeing up the bike. Getting on the back of the bike you held on to Bucky lightly. You felt him tense up then relax. He turned the bike on then revved the engine before speeding out of the garage and into the streets of New York. You tightened your grip on him because of almost falling off the bike.
